A print control method includes, when a sorting method for sorting printed matters in a printing device is set, displaying an image indicating an output aspect of the printed matters output from the printing device, based on the set sorting method and a previous output aspect of the printing device.

There is provided an image forming apparatus that improves the operability in selection of a post-processing function. A setting unit sets a sorting priority mode that causes a printing device to perform printing using a recording sheet in which the difference from the recording sheet size designated by a current print job mounted on the printing device is within a predetermined range, in a case where a recording sheet with a same size as the recording sheet designated by the current print job is not mounted on the printing device, and a recording sheet which has a recording sheet size that is printable without reducing the printing range, and for which the difference from the size of the recording sheet designated by the current print job is within a predetermined range is mounted on the printing device in a sheet feed direction different from the sheet feed direction of the recording sheet of the previous print job.

A sheet discharging apparatus includes a sheet supporting portion supporting a sheet discharged out of a nip portion nipping the sheet and a guide portion provided opposed to an upper surface of the sheet fed out of the nip portion. A bitmap processing system for creating digital documents on a digital printing press by a fulfiller includes a fulfiller operated raster image processor that receives customer application Page Description Language (PDL) job files containing information for creating the digital documents and generates bitmaps in accordance with the files and a fulfiller operated editor that modifies the bitmaps so that the resulting documents process more efficiently in production steps downstream of a printing process.

A sheet discharge device includes at least one sheet discharge tray, a sheet discharge position adjustment actuator, and a controller. The sheet discharge tray receives discharged sheets. The discharge position adjustment actuator adjusts discharge positions of the discharged sheets on the at least one sheet discharge tray. The controller compares a first rotation amount of first print data printed on a first sheet with a second rotation amount of second print data printed on a second sheet. In response to a determination that the first rotation amount is different than the second rotation amount, the controller controls the sheet discharge position adjustment actuator to (a) discharge the first sheet to a first discharge position and (b) discharge the second sheet to a second discharge position different than the first discharge position.

A processing job generation apparatus includes a decision unit that decides whether or not a sheet processing apparatus can execute a processing of a sheet based on a layout data.

An image forming system is provided. The image forming system comprises an image forming unit configured to execute a print job and form an image on a supplied sheet; and an inspection unit configured to inspect quality of the image formed in the sheet, wherein the inspection unit does not set a sheet discharged by the image forming unit without being used for the print job to a target of inspection.

An example method includes maintaining, by a processing resource associated with a finisher communicatively coupled to a printer, an interpage delay table, the interpage delay table storing an interpage delay value for each of a plurality of page attribute combinations. The method further includes processing, by the finisher, a job based at least in part on a particular interpage delay value stored in the interpage delay table for an identified page attribute combination.
