Image forming apparatus performing processing for resolving user's complaint against to printed result
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming device; a recording paper conveyance device discharging, to an outside of the image forming apparatus, a print result obtained by forming an image on a recording paper by the image forming device; a microphone; and a control device functioning as a controller that controls the image forming device and the recording paper conveyance device in accordance with a print condition and as a voice recognition device that recognizes voice collected by the microphone during a predefined detection period starting after the print result is discharged to the outside of the image forming apparatus and detects, from the recognized voice, a word indicating a predefined complaint against appearance of the print result. Upon detecting the word indicating the predefined complaint by the voice recognition device, the controller performs predefined processing as processing of resolving a cause of the complaint indicated by the word.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus includes processing circuitry; and a memory storing computer-executable instructions that cause the processing circuitry to perform printing onto a sheet; discharge the sheet onto which the printing has been performed; and control the sheet to be discharged in a manner such that a location of a paper jam can be identified among a plurality of sheets, upon detecting that the paper jam has occurred while printing onto the plurality of sheets.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM THAT STORES IMAGE FORMING PROGRAM
An image forming apparatus includes a controller circuitry configured to control the ink-jet module to form a density adjustive image pattern on one of the multiple sheets, detect a jam during continuous feeding, and then determine whether or not images, which are to be formed on one or more fed-and-unejected sheets, include the density adjustive image pattern, where the images include the density adjustive image pattern, determine whether or not the unejected sheet, on which the density adjustive image pattern is to be formed, has passed through a certain position of the sheet conveyer path, and control the ink-jet module, where the unejected sheet, on which the density adjustive image pattern is to be formed, has passed through the certain position, not to re-form the density adjustive image pattern and to re-form images on rest of the unejected sheets.
Systems and methods of augmenting displays using smart lighting modules
A system, method, and apparatus provide an improvement to user guided operation or troubleshooting of a device by illuminating an area of the device for the user's attention. Embodiments may include a plurality of lights. Each light is positioned respectively in a predetermined location in the printing apparatus, which may comprise known locations for paper jams to occur. Embodiments may also include a voice recognition module and a controller module connected to the plurality of lights. The controller module may be configured to: receive, from the voice recognition module, a user generated message requesting identification of the location of the paper jam; identify which of the predetermined locations has the paper jam; and activate a selected one of the plurality of lights, wherein the selected one of the plurality of lights is positioned to illuminate the predetermined location with the paper jam.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method for prohibiting or allowing recovery printing based on number of times of printing in case of discrepancy between sizes of sheet
An image forming apparatus includes a conveyor, a sensor, and control circuitry. The conveyor is configured to convey a sheet. The sensor is configured to detect the sheet conveyed by the conveyor. The control circuitry is configured to cause the conveyor to eject the sheet without stopping conveyance of the sheet and prohibit recovery printing when a size of the sheet determined based on detection of the sheet by the sensor is different from a setting size in a first operation mode. The control circuitry is configured to cause the conveyor to stop conveyance of the sheet and allow recovery printing when the size of the sheet is different from the setting size in a second operation mode in which a number of times of printing is larger than a number of times of printing in the first operation mode.

Support apparatus and method thereof
A simulation of behavior of a recording medium, which moves a conveyance path of an image forming apparatus, is performed. A transport error of the recoding medium is obtained based on a result of the simulation, and the transport error indicates a deviation between an orientation of the recording medium moving the conveyance path in an ideal transport state in which there is no disturbance, and a simulated orientation of the recording medium. A geometric characteristic screen is generated to present the obtained transport error.
Paper jam sensing and recovery method for receipt printer
The present invention relates to a paper jam sensing and recovery method for a receipt printer, the method enabling accurate measuring and determining of a motor overload state, which is most problematic when jam occurs, and enabling an immediate response if an overcurrent is generated on the basis of a driving current, such that damage to the motor or a driving circuit is fundamentally prevented and, also, paper jam occurring in a peripheral part of a printer cutter can be prevented in advance, thereby blocking product damage.
