An example image forming apparatus includes a detection device to detect loading of paper output from the image forming apparatus, a user interface device, a processor, and a memory to store instructions executable by the processor. The processor is to, by executing the instructions, detect a folded state or an unfolded state of the detection device, display state information indicating a state of the detection device on the user interface device, and control an operation of an image forming job based on the state information of the detection device and mounting information of an output option device.

An image forming apparatus includes multiple parts and a drive controller. The multiple parts are used to implement an image forming operation. The drive controller exerts control in such a manner that parts, each of the parts being possibly an abnormal-noise source, among the multiple parts are sequentially driven in predetermined order in an operating state for specifying a position at which abnormal noise is produced.

If a sheet is jammed while conveyed, whether the jammed sheet and a sheet preceding the jammed sheet have been generated by cutting an uncut sheet from which the jammed sheet is derived is determined. If generated, a printing apparatus re-prints a plurality of images including an image of the jammed sheet on a sheet, and the cutting apparatus cuts the re-printed sheet. If the jammed sheet and the preceding sheet have been generated, the printing apparatus re-prints a plurality of images including an image of the jammed sheet on a sheet, the cutting apparatus cuts the re-printed sheet, and a sheet that includes the same image as the preceding sheet is discharged to a different discharge destination from that of the preceding sheet.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a sheet transport mechanism, a sheet abnormality detection device, an output tray, an escape tray, a notification device, and a control device. The escape tray is provided separately from the output tray, and receives the sheet, from which abnormality has been detected by the sheet abnormality detection device, and delivered by the sheet transport mechanism. The control device causes the image forming device to again form, on another sheet, a same image formed on a sheet, from which the sheet abnormality has been detected, and delivered to the escape tray, and to continue with the image forming operation on subsequent sheets, and decides, according to a predetermined condition, whether to allow the notification device to announce the sheet abnormality.

An information processing apparatus controlling an inkjet printing apparatus in which a post-processing mechanism that can execute a plurality of post-processing processes on the medium can be installed at a discharge unit, the information processing apparatus comprises a storage unit storing print settings that include at least a first print setting and a second print setting different from the first print setting; and a control unit setting the first print setting for executing a first post-processing process and setting the second print setting for executing a second post-processing process different from the first post-processing process, wherein the control unit sets the first print setting so that paper is discharged with a reduced curl amount more than in a case where the post-processing process is not executed, and sets the second print setting so that paper is discharged with a curl amount reduced more than the first print setting.

An image processing device includes a jam occurrence record display unit configured to display a screen of records of jams at at least one location in the image processing device, and a jam details display unit configured to display details of individual records of jams that have occurred at the same location on the basis of a user operation on the screen of records of jams. At least one of the jam occurrence record display unit and the jam details display unit displays at least one of dates and times when the jams have occurred and paper information about the paper on which the jams have occurred.
