Electrode structure
An electrode formed by molding a semiconductor device with resin. The electrode comprises: a first resin mold portion formed on a front surface of the semiconductor device and having a first thickness (t1); a second resin mold portion formed on a back surface of the semiconductor device and having a second thickness (t2) greater than the first thickness; and an exposed portion formed in a part of the first resin mold portion corresponding to an end of the semiconductor device.
INTEGRATED POWER SOURCE ON A PAYMENT DEVICE
The described payment device includes an integrated power source including a piezoelectric accelerometer. Upon motion of the payment device, kinetic energy may be translated to a mass of the piezoelectric accelerometer to generate electrical energy to power other functions of the payment device. Motion translated to the piezoelectric accelerometer may also be used in combination with other inputs to implement security functions of the payment device.
Smartcard Cleaning and Sorting Systems and Methods
Various arrangements are presented for cleaning and sorting transaction cards. A transaction card may be dispensed from an intake magazine that houses a plurality of smartcards. The transaction card may be moved along a cleaning assembly. After cleaning the transaction card, the transaction card may be sorted and output into an output magazine. A card sensor may be used to determine when a next transaction card should be dispensed.

Mobile submission of pharmacy insurance information
If a user of a client device is authenticated with a pharmacy service, the user is prompted to capture an image of an insurance card; if the user is not authenticated, the user is further prompted to input patient information. Information is extracted from the insurance card and it and the patient information are transmitted to a pharmacy for processing.
Smartcard cleaning and sorting systems and methods
Various arrangements are presented for cleaning and sorting smartcards. An identifier present on the exterior of the smartcard may be scanned. A smartcard may be dispensed from an intake magazine that housing a plurality of smartcards. The smartcard may be moved along a cleaning assembly. The contacts of the smartcard may be cleaned. The contacts of the smartcard may be dried. After cleaning and drying the contacts of the smartcard, the smartcard may be sorted into either a cleaned output magazine or a cleaned rejection tray based on whether the scanning of the identifier was successfully performed.
FOIL CARD MADE FROM RECYCLED RAW MATERIALS
Provided is a card comprising an antenna connected to a chip, the card comprising: A central PVC core made of recycled PVC supporting the antenna; Two recycled PVC layers, a front side PVC layer and a back side PVC layer, each PVC layer being laminated on a side of the central PVC core, the front side PVC layer being laminated on the side of the PVC core supporting the antenna; Two transparent PET layers, a front side PET layer and a back side PET layer, the PET layers being glued on each of the recycled PVC layers, the front side PET layer being metalized by an aluminum foil; and Two PVC transparent overlays glued on each external face of the card.
Packaged electronic module and manufacturing method thereof
The present invention is a packaged electronic module with embedded electronics for use in smart cards. This invention assembles a plurality of electronics components on a flexible printed circuit, together with an integrated circuit chip and a contact plate, into a module. This module can then be embedded into a plastic card, using regular milling techniques, by a card manufacturer. This method packages the plurality of electronics components into a module. The present invention provides a business with the capability to avoid additional capital expenditure required for special equipment and enables all existing card manufacturers to manufacture smart cards with embedded electronics.
Transaction card with secured magnetic strip and method for making the same
A transaction card construction and a method for making transaction cards provides increased security for transaction card magnetic strips. The transaction card construction includes a card inlay and a clear card body. The card inlay is formed via a lamination press process with the magnetic strip attached to a back surface of the card inlay. The card body may have a window through which a data storage element may be exposed for accessing, such as by a magnetic stripe reader or EMV chip reader. The card body may be formed by adhering the card inlay to the clear card body.
