Flexible Time-Temperature Sensing Label System

A flexible sensor label including a reservoir chamber configured to store an activation medium, a plurality of first chambers, and a plurality of second chambers. Each first chamber has an associated first temperature and stores an irreversible thermochromic polymer that is altered and irreversibly changes color in response to the activation medium being released and coming into contact with the irreversible thermochromic polymer in the first chamber and an environmental temperature of the flexible sensor label corresponding to the associated first temperature of the first chamber. Each second chamber has an associated second temperature and stores a reversible thermochromic polymer that is altered and reversibly changes color in response to the activation medium being released and coming into contact with the reversible thermochromic polymer in the second chamber and the environmental temperature of the flexible sensor label corresponding to the associated second temperature of the second chamber.

A barcode-reading system may include a barcode reader that includes an illumination system, an image sensor, an optic system, a supercapacitor, and a first wireless point-to-point interface. The illumination system may be configured to illuminate a target area. The image sensor may be configured to capture an image of the target area. The optic system may be configured to focus reflected light from the target area onto the image sensor. The supercapacitor may be configured to provide operating power to the barcode reader. The barcode-reading system may also include a docking station configured to provide charging power to charge the supercapacitor of the barcode reader. The docking station may include a second wireless point-to-point interface. The first wireless point-to-point interface and the second wireless point-to-point interface may be configured to establish a wireless point-to-point communication link between the barcode reader and the docking station.

SIMPLE CODE READER

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide code readers for reading codes provided as patterns imprinted on objects. Light interacts with a pattern by e.g. being reflected from or transmitted through the pattern, and at least some of the light that has interacted with the pattern is incident on photosensitive element(s) of one or more photodetectors of a code reader. The code reader employs centroid-measuring photodetector(s), i.e. photodetectors that detect light in such a manner that centroid of a pattern can be obtained directly from the photocurrents generated as a result of the photosensitive elements detecting light incident thereon. The code reader is then configured to process the detected light to determine a centroid of the pattern from the detected light and to decode data encoded in the pattern based on a position of the centroid. Such code readers are substantially less complex than camera-based devices and avoid mechanical scanning.

Method and system for multifactor mutual authentication

Method and systems described herein may provide multifactor mutual authentication. A first server may provide a first party and a second party with at least two authentication components in order for the first party to authenticate the identity of the second party, and vice versa. The first authentication component may include a color-based authentication component, while the second authentication component may include a code-based authentication component. Both factors need to be validated in order for the authentication to be successful. The color-based authentication component, in combination with the code-based authentication component, may improve the speed with which the mutual authentication is performed.
