Disclosed embodiments may relate to a time-dependent color-changing label for a product. The label may include a first layer comprising a plurality of particles, the particles comprising a time dependent color-changing material that changes color after a predetermined time period, the predetermined time period being greater than one month. The label may also include an attachment structure attaching the first layer to the product. In certain embodiments, the first layer may include a polymer, and the particles may include glass microspheres containing the time-dependent color changing material. The particles may be embedded in the polymer.

A package for an integrated circuit is marked with an encoded image (e.g., a two-dimensional barcode). The encoded image is scanned by a scanner to obtain manufacturing parameters. In one approach, a method includes: fabricating, in a manufacturing facility, a physical product using a manufacturing process, where the physical product is fabricated according to specifications, and the manufacturing process includes manufacturing steps performed in the manufacturing facility; marking the physical product with an encoded image, where the encoded image encodes parameters that include the specifications; and transporting the physical product to a storage facility, where the storage facility includes a scanner configured to scan the encoded image to obtain the parameters.

The essence of the invention consists in recognition technique using means for telecommunication that are equipped with a unique program for recognizing identification codes located inside lengthy products. An identification code contains information about the manufacturer, as well as information about physical characteristics of the product as described in the certificate of quality.

An apparatus may include a memory to store instructions; and processing circuitry, coupled with the memory, operable to execute the instructions. When executed, the instructions may cause the processing circuitry to identify a matrix code; read a first layer of the matrix code, the first layer comprising a first account identifier associated with an account, wherein the first layer corresponds to a first color channel; and read a second layer of the matrix code, the second layer comprising a set of account data, associated with the account, wherein the second layer corresponds to a second color channel, different than the first color channel.

A flexible sensor label including a reservoir chamber configured to store an activation medium, a plurality of first chambers, and a plurality of second chambers. Each first chamber has an associated first temperature and stores an irreversible thermochromic polymer that is altered and irreversibly changes color in response to the activation medium being released and coming into contact with the irreversible thermochromic polymer in the first chamber and an environmental temperature of the flexible sensor label corresponding to the associated first temperature of the first chamber. A transparent substrate that encodes data therein having optically readable identification indicia corresponding to identifying information regarding the substrate. The optically readable identification indicia may be readable from the transparent substrate by altering the reflectivity of the transparent substrate in indicia portions that may be read by a scanner or reader (e.g., a barcode reader). The optically readable identification indicia may be provided on a common surface with a data zone in which data is encoded in the transparent substrate. Alternatively or additionally, the optically readable identification indicia may be provided on another, different surface than the surface on which the data is encoded in a data zone.

A user instrument for engaging in a transaction includes a graphically encoded icon having a static portion, and an intrinsic portion comprising an area of stimuli-responsive material defining a first machine-readable indicia. At least a portion of the stimuli-responsive material transforms from a first state to a second state in response to a trigger. The transformation from the first state to the second state of the portion of the stimuli-response material results in a second machine-readable indicia. The transformation of the stimuli-responsive material from the first state to the second state is semi-irreversible. The second machine-readable indicia comprises information to permit or deny the user to engage in a second transaction via the user instrument.
