Transaction card with secured magnetic strip and method for making the same
A transaction card construction and a method for making transaction cards provides increased security for transaction card magnetic strips. The transaction card construction includes a card inlay and a clear card body. The card inlay is formed via a lamination press process with the magnetic strip attached to a back surface of the card inlay. The card body may have a window through which a data storage element may be exposed for accessing, such as by a magnetic stripe reader or EMV chip reader. The card body may be formed by adhering the card inlay to the clear card body.
System and Method for Reflecting Light
An improved system and method for reflecting light includes a first light conduit and a first light source. The first light conduit has a first opening at a first end, a second opening at a second end opposite the first end, and a side opening between the first opening and the second opening. The first light source outputs a first light that initially enters the first light conduit through the side opening, reflects off the first light conduit, and exits the first light conduit through the first opening, where a second light exits the first light conduit through the second opening. The second light may be provided by a second light source that output the second light that initially enters the first light conduit through a second side opening.
Apparatus and method for implementing magnetic stripe transmission circuit
A magnetic stripe transmission (MST) apparatus that improves a recognition rate and operates at a low current is provided. The apparatus includes a first coil disposed between a first power supply source and a second power supply source, and wound in a first direction, a second coil connected in parallel to the first coil, disposed between the first power supply source and the second power supply source, and wound in a second direction, a first driver disposed between the first coil and the second power supply source, and configured to control a first current of the first coil according to a first voltage pulse supplied by a first pulse supply source, and a second driver disposed between the second coil and the second power supply source, and configured to control a second current of the second coil according to a second voltage pulse supplied by a second pulse supply source.
Cards including anti-skimming devices
A card, such as a payment card, or other device may include an electronics package. The electronics package may include an RFID antenna. The RFID may not be utilized to access data on the card, or other device, until the appropriate manual input is received into the card or other device. Such manual input may take the form of a manual press of a physical button or the manual activation of a virtual button on a touch-screen device (e.g., a touch-screen mobile phone or card).
Physical card with embossed characters for improved security
A physical card may include a substantially planar body that may include a front surface, a back surface, and one or more side surfaces. The front surface may include a background formed primarily in a first color, and a plurality of embossed characters each having one or more front surfaces aligned substantially in parallel relative to the background. The plurality of embossed characters may include one or more side surfaces extending from the background at a lower edge to the front surface at an upper edge, wherein the one or more front surfaces of at least a first embossed character of the plurality of embossed characters are formed primarily in a second color different from the first color and the one or more side surfaces of at least the first embossed character are formed primarily in the first color to limit a viewing angle of the plurality of embossed characters.
Card reader and control method therefor
A card reader may include a magnetic sensor to detect whether magnetic data are recorded in the magnetic stripe of the card; a control section to supply electric power to the magnetic sensor and into which an output signal of the magnetic sensor is inputted; and a card insertion port into which the card is inserted and in which the magnetic sensor is disposed. The magnetic sensor may output an output signal when the electric power is supplied from the control section. The control section may supply the electric power to the magnetic sensor during a first supply time period which is shorter than a card passage time period.
Card, an assembly, a method of assembling the card and a method of outputting information
A card configured to output an magnetic field on or at a surface thereof, the card comprising an elongated magnetically conducting material on or at the surface of the card, the magnetically conducting material having a first and a second guide ends, and a field generator positioned so as to feed a magnetic field into the magnetically conducting material. The magnetically conducting material is positioned at the position where the reading head travels and forms a return path for the field generated by the field generator, whereby field from the generator is fed to the reading head via the magnetically conducting material.
TRANSACTION CARD HAVING INTERNAL MAGNETIC STRIPE
A transaction card is provided. The transaction card includes a card frame having a card inlay and a card housing. The transaction card also includes a magnetic stripe disposed inside the card frame between the card inlay and the card housing.
NON-CONDUCTIVE MAGNETIC STRIPE ASSEMBLY
A card assembly includes an insulating planar body and a magnetic stripe assembly coupled with the planar body. The magnetic stripe assembly includes a magnetic layer configured to magnetically store information and a metal layer that provides at least one of a security feature, a decorative feature, or other functional feature. The metal layer has a small thickness such that the metal layer prevents conduction of electrostatic discharge (ESD) through the magnetic stripe assembly.
RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDING MAGNETIC MATERIAL SIMULATION PROGRAM, MAGNETIC MATERIAL SIMULATION METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
A recording medium recording a magnetic material simulation program includes: acquiring a shape model including element regions of a shape of a core, property information indicating physical properties of a magnetic material of the core, and coil current information indicating a time change in a current through a coil around the core; specifying a first current density of the coil at a first time, based on the coil current information; computing, using the property information and the first current density, first index values at the first time for positions in the shape model; computing, using the first index values, a charge density of each element region; specifying a second current density of the coil at a second time, based on the coil current information; and computing, using the property information, the second current density, and the charge density, second index values at the second time for the positions.
