Provided is an IC tag favorably applicable even to linen products. An IC tag 100 using a magnetic field type tag unit 110 in which an IC chip and a coil antenna to be electrically connected to the IC chip are embedded inside a hard resin material. The IC tag includes: a flexible film made of resin (a base film 121, a cover film 123, and a protective film 124); and an auxiliary antenna 122 formed on the film, wherein the magnetic field type tag unit 110 is fixed to the film by an adhesive 130 with elasticity at a position that enables communication by electromagnetic coupling between the coil antenna and the auxiliary antenna 122.

A flexible card may include a dynamic magnetic stripe communications device having multiple layers, such as an electromagnetic generator, a magnet, and a shield. A shield may form a non-flexible layer within the stack and may bend, but the shield may not be able to stretch or compress. Flexible layers may surround and adhere to the shield such that when the card is flexed, the flexible layers may stretch and compress with the movement of the shield. The dynamic magnetic stripe communications device may include one or more coils. Each coil may contain a stepped material, such that a length of a lower layer of the stepped material is longer than a length of a middle layer of the stepped material which is longer than a length of a top layer of the stepped material.

The transaction card construction includes a card inlay and a clear card body. The card inlay is formed via a lamination press process with the magnetic strip attached to a back surface of the card inlay. The card body may have a window through which a data storage element may be exposed for accessing, such as by a magnetic stripe reader or EMV chip reader. The card body may be formed by adhering the card inlay to the clear card body.

In some instances, the combined assembly of the card frame with the transaction card may detect a proximity of a mobile device to the assembly and generate an authentication credential that is unique to the combination of the card frame, the transaction card, and the mobile device. The authentication credential may be used to authentic the transaction card when conducting a data transaction.

Provided is a hidden magnetic stripe card and method of personalization, which comprises a personalized medium that includes at least a core layer, a magnetic stripe on the core layer, and an opaque silk-screening layer above the magnetic stripe that hides the magnetic stripe from view, where the silk-screening layer comprises iron tetroxide combined with ink. In some embodiments, the iron tetroxide comes in the form of a paste or powder having low granulometry. Other embodiments are disclosed.
