Payment card and method of manufacturing the same
Embodiments disclosed herein generally relates to a payment card, and more specifically to a payment card with obfuscated personal identification information and a method of generating the same. In one embodiment, an apparatus is disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a substrate, one or more sets of personal identification information, and a masking layer. The substrate is formed from a water-insoluble material. The one or more sets of personal identification information is formed on the substrate. The masking layer is selectively positioned on the substrate to obscure at least one set of personal identification information. The masking layer is formed from a water-soluble material.
Payment card overlay skimmer detection
Devices and methods for detecting credit card skimmers are provided herein. A device can include a printed circuit board having a pattern of electrical traces on its surface, and a computer readable medium comprising instructions that cause a processor to direct an electrical voltage to a trace and detect an electrical current between two points of the trace. A gap can be disposed between the two points across which a voltage is applied in order to detect a magnetic reader. A count of the detected magnetic readers within a credit card reading device may be indicative of the presence of a credit card skimmer.
Multi-part transaction card
A transaction card may include a body having a first part connectable with a second part, and a magnetic stripe on a first main side of the body. A first section of the magnetic stripe is provided on the first part of the body, and a second section of the magnetic stripe is provided on the second part of the body. The transaction card may further include an engagement member extending from the first part of the body for retention within a slot of the second part of the body, the slot embedded within the body between the first main side and a second main side.
Magnetometer chip sensor array for reading a magnetic PUF, including a magnetic PUF film or tape, and systems incorporating the reader
A system for use in authentication processes is described comprising a physical unclonable function (PUF), a substrate, a plurality of magnetized particles randomly dispersed in the substrate, a PUF reader constructed using multiple discrete magnetometer chips that have magnetic field sensors, placed on a circuit card in an array with a sufficient center to center spacing between sensing elements of adjacent magnetometer chips, wherein the PUF reader measures the magnetic field data at multiple locations in close proximity to the magnetized particles. The measured magnetic field data may be compared to previously enrolled data to assess authenticity.
METAL, CERAMIC, OR CERAMIC-COATED TRANSACTION CARD WITH WINDOW OR WINDOW PATTERN AND OPTIONAL BACKLIGHTING
A transaction card includes at least one metal layer having one or more apertures therein. A light guide is disposed beneath the metal layer. The light guide has a light output and a light input. The light output is positioned to transmit light through at least the one or more apertures of the metal layer. At least one LED is positioned to transmit light into the light input of the light guide.
Tear element for magnetic stripe of transaction card
Provided are approaches for deactivating an identification chip of a transaction card using a tear element. In some approaches, the transaction card may include a body, the identification chip coupled to the body, and the tear element disposed between the identification chip and the body. The tear element is operable to decouple the identification chip from the body when the tear element is pulled or otherwise moved away from the body.
Transaction card with embedded electronic components and process for manufacture
A transaction card and a process of making the transaction card are described. The transaction card includes a core having first and second faces, a core thickness therebetween, and an opening, and embedded electronics disposed in the opening.
Mobile sorter platforms and method for sorting articles
A platform assembly for use with sorting articles includes a first panel including a plurality of markers thereon, the markers forming a track on the first panel for transit thereabout by a plurality of vehicles. Each marker includes one or more magnetic characteristics for determining an orientation of the marker. A container is positioned about at least one of the plurality of markers. The platform assembly defines a first orientation in which the platform assembly is in a retracted position and a second orientation in which the platform assembly is in an extended position with a horizontal disposition. During operation, the vehicle is directed by a control system to deposit an article carried thereon into a container associated with a marker based on the location and the orientation of the marker.
CREDIT CARD WITH CHROMOGENIC FEATURES
A credit card with an obscurable account identifier. The credit card further comprises a substrate defining a first surface with a chromogenic feature wherein the chromogenic feature is capable of changing from a first state and a second state based on an activating trigger. In the first state, the chromogenic feature appears with a first optical property that obscures the account identifier, and in the second state. the chromogenic feature appears with a second optical property that reveals the account identifier.
CONTACTLESS METAL CARD CONSTRUCTIONS
A metal smartcard (SC) having a transponder chip module (TCM) with a module antenna (MA), and a card body (CB) comprising two discontinuous metal layers (ML), each layer having a slit (S) overlapping the module antenna, the slits being oriented differently than one another. One metal layer can be a front card body (FCB, CF1), and the other layer may be a rear card body (RCB, CF2) having a magnetic stripe (MS) and a signature panel (SP). The slits in the metal layers may have non-linear shapes.
