Passage-defining prosthetic limb structure and fabrication method

A prosthetic device includes an internal frame assembled from multiple longitudinal members and multiple transverse members that are substantially planar in character and are arranged to be joined together. A medially arranged opening is defined in each transverse member, and is substantially registered with openings of adjacent transverse members to form a longitudinal passage, such as may be useful to receive an actuator and/or other items. At least some transverse members differ from one another in one or more of shape, length, or width. A covering member may be provided over the internal frame. Rear-facing gaps in transverse members may receive one or more elements such as dampers, batteries, or the like.

System and methods for residual limbs of amputees

Various aspects of this disclosure relate to a prosthetic cover comprising an array of sensors, which transmit signals to an array of electrodes in a liner that fits over a residual limb of an amputee. Different interactions with the prosthetic cover cause different activation of the electrodes to transmit electrical current through different areas of the residual limb and modulate neurons differently within the residual limb.

METHOD OF FITTING A PROSTHETIC INTERFACE SYSTEM USING COMPLIANT MEMBERS

POSTERIOR UPRIGHT OF ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSIS AND ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSIS

A posterior upright of an ankle foot orthosis with adjustable degree of bending. A posterior upright 4 of an ankle foot orthosis 1 is provided between a heel posterior portion of a footrest portion 2 on which a foot portion is placed and a lower leg mounting portion 3 mounted on a lower leg portion below a knee. In the posterior upright 4, a plurality of FRP sheets 5a to 5c are laminated, and an upper end portion and a lower end portion of the FRP sheets are joined by heat sealing. An upper end portion 4A is a portion connected to the lower leg mounting portion 3 and a lower end portion 4B is connected to the footrest portion 2. An intermediate portion between the upper end portion 4A and the lower end portion 4B has +gaps S1 and S2 between the FRP sheets 5a to 5c.

MECHANICAL JOINT WITH SWITCHABLE, ROTATION-CONSTRAINING CLUTCH

The current document is directed to a two-way, by-passable, overrunning clutch incorporated within a mechanical prosthetic knee that provides functionality similar to a biological knee or incorporated in another articulated device, such as a robotic or orthotic articulated device or member. The currently disclosed two-way, by-passable, overrunning clutch allows for two-way free rotation when disabled, but, when enabled, prevents rotation in one direction while allowing free rotation in the other direction. In the mechanical prosthetic knee, the two-way, by-passable, overrunning clutch is enabled by application of a mechanical force and disabled by removal of the mechanical force.

ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE HAVING A FOOT PART, A LOWER-LEG PART AND A THIGH PART

An orthopedic device that includes a foot part, a lower-leg part, and a thigh part. The foot part is connected to the lower-leg part for pivoting about a first pivot axis by an ankle joint. The lower-leg part is connected to the thigh part for pivoting about a second pivot axis by a knee joint. The foot part is connected to the thigh part by a force-transmitting apparatus. The force-transmitting apparatus causes a dorsal flexion of the foot part in the event of a knee flexion over a first knee flexion angle range and causes a plantar flexion of the foot part in the event of further knee flexion after a knee flexion limit angle has been exceeded.

COUPLING DEVICE FOR PROSTHESIS
20210267774 · 2021-09-02 ·

A coupling device, for connecting at least one first prosthetic part with at least one second prosthetic part of which at least one of the prosthetic parts is provided with, alternatively is suitable to be provided with, cosmetics. The coupling device comprises at least one first coupling part and at least one second coupling part which are suitable for connection to each other and in a connected position are temporarily locked to each other with at least one locking device. The coupling parts are disengaged from each other with at least one disengaging device. The first coupling part comprises at least one first holder for cosmetics and the second coupling part comprises at least one second holder for cosmetics. The cosmetics are attached to, alternatively integrated with, at least one of the first holder for cosmetics and the second holder for cosmetics.

ADJUSTABLE SOCKET SYSTEM

An adjustable socket system includes first and second shell components and first and second longitudinal supports connected to a base. The socket system is movable between an open configuration to loosen the fit of the socket system, and a closed configuration to secure the fit of the socket system on residual limb received therein. A tightening system includes a tensioning unit having a handle defining a moment arm rotatable about a rotation axis, and a tensioning element operatively coupled to the handle via a movable connection point located and protected between the first shell component and the first support and to the shell components via a control point. Rotation of the handle displaces the movable connection point and the tensioning element relative to the control point to move the socket system to the closed configuration.
