Systems and methods for detecting potential shrink events via RFID technology are provided. The systems include a point of sale (POS) system that includes an optical scanner, an RFID transceiver arrangement, a user interface and a controller. The controller is configured to perform example methods disclosed herein. For example, the controller may detect that the optical scanner has decoded a barcode, trigger the RFID transceiver arrangement to write a data string to an RFID tag located within the object scanning area, conduct a detection operation to detect the RFID tag with the data string in the bagging area. Responsive to detecting the RFID tag with the data string, the method involves the user interface performing a first operation. Responsive to not detecting the RFID tag with the data string, the method involves the user interface performing a second operation.

DETECTING A SKIMMER VIA A VIBRATION SENSOR

Disclosed herein are system, method, and apparatus for detecting a skimmer via a vibration sensor on a transaction card. The method includes receiving, at a server, from a user equipment, vibration information recorded by a transaction card in response to an execution of a transaction at a point-of-service (POS) terminal of a plurality of POS terminals using the transaction card. The vibration information may be recorded by a microphone or an accelerometer on the transaction card while the transaction card is swiped through the POS terminal or inserted into or removed from the POS terminal. The method includes determining, at the server, a state of the POS terminal based on the received vibration information and in response to a determination of the state of the POS being compromised, sending to one or more stakeholders of the transaction a warning message containing the POS terminal information including the POS terminal’s state.

Interactive mobile sessions based on point-of-sale and network transactions

Techniques described herein include analyzing point-of-sale transactions and initiating interactive mobile sessions responsive to the transactions. Platform servers receive transaction data indicative of a transaction performed via a point-of-sale system, determine additional data associated with server processes, and initiate interactive session with the mobile device to receive the additional data for performing the server processes. Based on the interactive sessions and additional data, the platform servers may enhance fraud detection capabilities and generates compliance records for tax and expense reporting based on the transactions, while supporting credentialing and authentication capabilities.

Secure processing of electronic payments

Systems (100, 900), methods, and machine-executable data structures for the processing of data for the secure creation, administration, manipulation, processing, and storage of electronic data useful in the processing of electronic payment transactions and other secure data processes. Aspects of such systems (100) include trusted platforms (120) by which networked communication devices (110) and merchant systems (130) may registered as trusted entities 110′, 130. Information associated with particular payment means, such as accounts or payment tokens, can be stored on device(s) secure data sets known as virtual or electronic wallets (112), or in the form of secure payment tokens. Among other improvements, the invention enables the use of multiple payment accounts to fund purchases and other electronic transactions.

An option is set on a payment card of a card issuer. A request for payment for a transaction is received by a payment server of the card issuer from a merchant device/server. The payment server requests and receives a one-time token based on the option. An authorization indicating payment was successful is sent from the payment server to the merchant device/server with a flag set, the token, and a network address. Merchant device/server identifies the flag obtains the token and sends an e-receipt for the transaction along with the token to the network address. The e-receipt accessible from the network address by a consumer associated with the transaction. Furthermore, the e-receipt is obtained by the consumer without registering personal information or contact information with the merchant, which preserves the anonymity of the consumer with respect to the merchant.

Computer-based systems for determining a travel time to an airport departure point and methods of use thereof

A method and system include identifying, by a processor, departing flight information that designates departure airports and departure times in payment card transaction data of a plurality of users. Airport-specific data for a departure airport before a departure time of a departing flight of a user from the plurality of users is received. The airport-specific data is inputted into a machine learning model that outputs a user-specific airport processing time for the user to reach a departure gate upon arriving to the departure airport. A travel time from a geographical location of the computing device of the user to the departure airport is received from a navigation system. The computing device displays a time for the user to start travel to the departure airport based on the user-specific airport processing time and the travel time to the departure airport for the user to reach the departure gate by the departure time.

FACILITATING TRANSACTIONS WITH A USER ACCOUNT USING A WIRELESS DEVICE
20230214817 · 2023-07-06 ·

A wireless device can store account identifiers and facilitate transactions. The wireless device can be loaded with user account identifiers and can be presented to various checkpoint devices. When presented, the wireless device can transmit a selected account identifier to the checkpoint device. In the context of a purchase transaction, the checkpoint device can be a point-of-sale terminal and the account data can be financial account data. In some instances, the wireless device can also facilitate a purchase transaction, e.g., by obtaining information about products to be purchased, constructing a purchase order from the product information, and transmitting the purchase order to a point-of-sale terminal.
