Method and apparatus for video coding
11240518 · 2022-02-01 · ·

Aspects of the disclosure provide method and apparatus for video coding. In the method, prediction information of a current block in a current coding tree unit (CTU) from a coded video bitstream is decoded. The prediction information indicates an intra block copy (IBC) mode. Padded values of a reference block are determined based on a block vector that points to the reference block. The padded values of the reference block are copied from a reference sample line. At least a sample of the current block is reconstructed based on the padded values of the reference block.

TAX-FREE PROCESSING SYSTEM AND RELATED INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND PROGRAM
20210312569 · 2021-10-07 ·

An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment receives electronic receipt information corresponding to each purchase made by a customer in one or more stores in a group during a predetermined period. The electronic receipt information includes a tax-free classification code for each sales object included in the electronic receipt information. The apparatus receives passport information of the customer. The apparatus determines, based on the tax-free classification code and the passport information, tax-exempt objects purchased in the stores in the group during the predetermined period. The apparatus determines, based on the determined tax-exempt objects, an amount of a tax refund, and provides the determined tax refund to the customer. The apparatus transmits tax refund information indicating the tax refund paid relative to the objects determined to be tax exempt.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SECURE REAL-TIME PROCESSING OF AN INVOICE PERTAINING TO A TRANSACTION
20210287217 · 2021-09-16 ·

The invention provides a method and system for performing secure real-time processing of an invoice pertaining to a transaction between a merchant and a client. Upon receiving the invoice, the method and system determines if the invoice includes a merchant's tax registration number and a client's tax registration number. The method and system verifies the invoice by validating the merchant's tax registration number and the client's tax registration number by performing a lookup in a tax registration number database. Additionally, the method and system evaluates and verifies if one or more product/service categories corresponding to line items included in the invoice are in compliance with product/service category policies defined by the client and a line amount is within a spend limit, by checking a rules/policy database. Thereafter, the method and system approves a transaction amount for the transaction in response to verifying the invoice and processes the transaction amount.

Disclosed is system that determines tax liability of entity. The system comprises server arrangement and database arrangement coupled in communication with server arrangement. The server arrangement is configured to: (a) obtain information pertaining to entity; (b) perform natural language processing on the information to generate conceptual representation; (c) determine at least two tax jurisdictions towards which entity has tax liability; (d) access, from database arrangement, knowledge-based information and/or regulation-based information pertaining to tax for at least two tax jurisdictions and analyse the knowledge-based information and/or the regulation-based information to generate conceptual representation of knowledge-based and/or regulation-based information for at least two tax jurisdictions; and (e) analyse conceptual representation of the information, based upon conceptual representation of knowledge-based and/or regulation-based information, to determine tax liability of entity towards at least two tax jurisdictions, wherein server arrangement, by analysing conceptual representation of the information, reduces errors or inaccuracies present in the information.

User analytics for interview automation
11087280 · 2021-08-10 · ·

Methods and media for predicting responses to discovery questions while interviewing a user. Embodiments of the invention begin by collecting information about the user from various sources. Factors affecting likely responses to discovery questions are identified and a score for each discovery question is determined. These scores may be adjusted as additional information is gathered and as the user answers other interview questions. Then, for each discovery question, the score is compared to a first threshold. If the score is above that first threshold, then the discovery question can be skipped. Otherwise the score is compared to a second, lower threshold. If the score is above that threshold, the likely answer to the discovery question can be presented to the user to confirm. Otherwise, the discovery question is presented to the user to answer.

Virtual payment card fraud detection
11068898 · 2021-07-20 · ·

Like many credit card payments, virtual card payments are subject to fraudulent transactions. To lower this possibility, data collected from a settlement transaction is stored including a merchant category code, a tax identification number, a merchant identification and an IP address of the processing terminal. Subsequent payments from the same payor to the same payee are verified against the previous settlement transaction data to minimize the possibility of fraud.

Computer architecture and method for single and consolidated real-time processing of event data in a complex computing network

A computer system for single and consolidated real-time processing of event data relating to VAT tax refunds requests. The system communicates with multiple retailer systems and multiple user devices in connection with the processing of that event data in accordance with an adaptive processing rules schema. The system includes a distributed system interface that receives the event data from the plurality of distributed retailer networks in the form of event data transactions. The system is operated in accordance with a rules schema database that contains tax models applicable to various event data transactions. An event data processor receives the event data transactions and applies the tax models in the rules schema database and is then operable through a payment gateway processor to direct electronic transactions to occur in responding to the processing of the event data based at least in part on rules stored in the rules schema database in communication with the event data processor. The computer system further includes a compliance system that is operable to communicate electronically with user devices to determine whether VAT refunds have been validly claimed and whether all conditions precedent and subsequent to the VAT refund request have been fulfilled.

Systems and methods for performing payment transactions using indicia-based associations between user interfaces

Systems and methods are disclosed for performing payment transactions using indicia-based associations between two or more user interfaces. One method includes: receiving transaction information related to a user's selection of goods or services from a merchant; generating an indicia encoding the transaction information related to the selected goods or services, the merchant, and the transaction amount; transmitting the indicia to be displayed, and to enable a user interface of a first user device to scan the indicia and extract the transaction information; receiving from the first user device, an authorization to process the payment transaction using a mobile payment source; and if sufficient resources exist in the mobile payment source: generating and transmitting a low value token to the merchant indicating the authorization of the payment transaction, wherein the low value token conceals the information related to the mobile payment source; and processing the transaction using the mobile payment source.

Various embodiments are described herein that relate to data transmission system and methods that may be implemented in a system configured between a source device and a destination device. Data generated at the source device may be received at the data transmission system and processed to determine appropriate modifications. Modified data may then be transmitted to the destination device. In the event that the data transmission system is unable to process data, the system transmits the data directly to the recipient device to ensure continued operation of the source and destination devices. The data transmission system is capable of converting any form of signal into USB and/or UART signals for processing.

RETAIL HSA FUNDING AND PAYMENT MECHANISM

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments describing the creation and funding of tax-advantaged accounts at a point-of-sale. By immediately funding the tax-advantaged account at the point-of-sale using a funding and payment mechanism, the disclosed embodiments may effectively and instantly fund a tax-advantaged account at a point-of-sale. The funding and payment mechanism overcomes the lapse in availability of funds inherent in legacy systems. Thus, an account holder may then immediately pay a provider from the tax-advantaged account for qualified expenses. The disclosure also presents a credit feature allowing prospective account holders to initially fund the tax-advantaged account. At the point-of-sale, the prospective account holder may link their newly created tax-advantaged account to other accounts, allowing the system to detect potential over-contributions. The disclosure also presents a retroactive analysis feature that analyzes linked accounts to create tax-advantaged transactions in transactions completed earlier in a plan year.
