Prepaid chip card exception processing
A portable consumer device may have money stored therein, which can be calculated using an accumulator record and an exception record. The accumulator record can be incremented by the amount of any initiated transaction using the portable consumer device. The exception record can be incremented by the amount of any completed transaction using the portable consumer device. The portable consumer device may also have a limit amount, to record the amount of money added. The records allow for a later reconstruction of the device history, and can account for any errors or problems during transactions.
Method, apparatus, and computer program product for topping up prepaid payment cards for offline use
A card holder carries out an initial top-up of a balance of a pre-paid payment card. The prepaid payment card is configured for use in an infrastructure in accordance with a payment specification requiring different behavior for normal transactions in the infrastructure versus that required for topping-up of the balance. Contemporaneously with the initial top-up, the card holder registers risk mitigation information in association with the pre-paid payment card. Subsequent to the initial top-up, an indicator is written to the pre-paid payment card during a transaction with the pre-paid payment card outside the infrastructure. The indicator identifies the pre-paid payment card as having the risk mitigation information associated therewith. During subsequent presentation of the pre-paid payment card to the infrastructure, the pre-paid payment card is treated as a token backed up by the risk mitigation information, based on presence of the indicator on the pre-paid payment card.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SELF-SERVICE VOUCHER CREATION
Systems, apparatuses and methods are provided herein for creating a purchase voucher. In one embodiment, a method of creating a purchase voucher is provided. The method includes the steps of: providing a network accessible user interface for configuring the purchase voucher, receiving a selection of a voucher type through the user interface, receiving a selection of one or more products through the user interface, generating voucher usage parameters based on at least the selection of the voucher type and the selection of the one or more products, associating the voucher usage parameters with a voucher identifier, the voucher identifier being configured to be used by a customer to redeem the purchase voucher with a retailer, and storing the voucher usage parameters and the associated voucher identifier at a networked database.
Mobile Device Based System for Redeeming Reward Points and Method of Operating the Mobile Device Based System
A method of operating a mobile device based system is provided to facilitate a user to redeem reward points of a reward program. The method comprises monitoring location of a mobile device associated with the user. The method further comprises electronically by a processor, determining if a reward account associated with the mobile device contains available reward points for redemption by the user. The method also comprises presenting a redemption notification to the mobile device when location of the mobile device moves within a geofence boundary of a partner of the reward program and a determination has been made that the reward account contains available reward points for redemption by the user, wherein the redemption notification contains a redemption offer for a gift card by the partner of the reward program to the user.
Gift card conversion and digital wallet
A method and a system convert the value of a gift card for use with a mobile device. The value of the gift card is determined from an issuer of the gift card. The value of the gift card is stored in a digital payment account in a storage device. The digital payment account stores values of gift cards from issuers. A financial transaction corresponding to the issuer of the gift card is performed on the digital payment account. The value of a first gift card from a first issuer of a first digital payment account is exchanged with the value of a second gift card from a second issuer of a second digital payment account.

The transaction device may authenticate the request and associate an on-demand payment instrument to the user payment account. Information associated with the on-demand payment instrument information may then be tokenized and communicated to the user device, the merchant, or another party and the information may be entered and/or processed for the transaction.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SPLITTING A CARD DATA STRUCTURE
Methods, systems, and computer program products are included for splitting a gift card by generating one or more other gift cards. A transaction processor receives a request to split a first value that corresponds to a first data structure, the request including a first identifier that is associated with the first data structure. Responsive to the request, the transaction processor generates a second data structure. The transaction processor assigns a second identifier and a second value to the second data structure. The transaction processor receives a second request that includes the second identifier and a third value. The transaction processor reduces the third value by the second value.
