System and Method for Managing Gifts
Disclosed are systems and methods for processing gift transactions. An example method includes receiving an identification of a first merchant from a giver at a first time, wherein a gift from the giver to a recipient is redeemable at the first merchant. The method can include generating a policy comprising the first merchant. The policy can be at least in part giver-defined and linked to the recipient payment account. The method can then include transmitting an electronic notice to a recipient device, receiving a selection from the recipient of a second merchant at which to redeem the gift from the giver, updating the policy to apply to the second merchant selected by the recipient to yield an updated policy and, upon receiving an indication of a triggering event caused by use of the recipient payment account as defined by the updated policy, applying an amount of money to the gift.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENABLING A USER TO CHOOSE HOW TO REDEEM A GIFT CREDIT
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for processing gift transactions, related to enabling a recipient to choose a mode of redeeming the gift credit. A method can include receiving an identification, from a giver of a credit, of a recipient and a spending category associated with a notice, transmitting the notice to a device associated with the recipient, receiving a selection from the recipient regarding a payment mode to be used to redeem the credit from the giver by making a purchase according to the spending category, linking the payment mode to a policy associated with redeeming the credit, monitoring purchases using the payment mode of the recipient for a qualified purchase according to the spending category, receiving an indication that the qualified purchase was made using the payment mode and, based on the indication of the qualified purchase, applying the credit to the recipient.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR GENERATING AND DISPLAYING VIRTUAL AND INTERACTIVE EGIFTS
Technologies for unwrappable virtual egifts enabling recipients to redeem gift credits using payment accounts. In some examples, a system identifies a merchant associated with a giver, the giver being associated with a giver payment account and a recipient being associated with a recipient payment account. The system associates a policy with the gift credit and generates an image underlay identifying the gift credit and an image overlay hiding the image underlay and gift credit, the image overlay including a separable flap having a portion that appears unadhered to the image underlay, the separable flap being configured to trigger, in response to an input, an animated unwrapping effect that removes the image overlay to reveal the image underlay and gift credit. The system presents the image overlay and, in response to receiving the input, generates the animated unwrapping effect to remove the image overlay and reveal the image underlay.
USER-INTERACTIVE DIGITAL SIGNAGE APPARATUS THAT DISPLAYS CONTENTS ASSOCIATED WITH PREPAID CARD
A user-interactive digital signage apparatus includes a signage housing, a touch panel display, a card reader, and a controller. The card reader is configured to read card information from a prepaid card presented by a user at the retail space. The controller is configured to obtain map image data for a map image of the retail space using the card information, the map image data including information on one or more affiliated stores that are affiliated with the prepaid card among a plurality of stores in the retail space. The controller is configured to control the touch panel display to display a user-interactive retail space map including one or more map elements corresponding to at least a part of the one or more affiliated stores, in an emphasized display manner with respect to one or more map elements corresponding to one or more non-affiliated stores in the retail space.
System and method for provisioning a gift with a uniform resource locator
Provided herein are systems and methods for provisioning a gift. The method includes receiving, with at least one processor, a request to provision a gift, the request comprising a uniform resource locator (URL) corresponding to a network location associated with a merchant and/or item, generating, with at least one processor, a modified URL configured to direct a user device to the network location associated with the merchant and/or item, the modified URL based on the original URL, an account identifier, and one or more account limits, and transmitting, with at least one processor, the modified URL to the user device, such that the user device is facilitated to engage in a transaction through the network location associated with the merchant and/or item using a payment account associated with the account identifier.
Method, medium, and system for associating a payment amount with a physical object
A payment object service receives a request from a giver to associate a payment amount to an object. The request includes one or more images of the object and recipient information, which the payment object service uses to determine whether the association between these images and the information is unique. If the association is unique, the payment object service updates a database to associate the payment amount to the object and enable redemption of the payment amount. When the payment object service receives a request to redeem at least a portion of the payment amount, the payment object service may use one or more images and recipient information obtained from the request to verify that the images and information together correspond to the object. Once the redemption is complete, the payment object service may update the database to specify the current remaining payment amount.
Erasable reusable check
Apparatus and methods for an erasable reusable check are provided. The method may include receiving in a card reader a microchip embedded in a check. The method may also include extracting from the microchip data identifying a payor name, a payor address, a bank account number of a payor bank account a routing number of the payor bank account, and pixelated data. The method may further include transforming the pixelated data into written text and creating an Image Replacement Document (“IRD”) of the check. The IRD may include the payor name, the payor address, the bank account number, the routing number, and the written text.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING AND LOADING VALUE TO GIFT CARDS
A system and method are provided for the providing and loading of value to a gift card. A system for providing and loading value to a gift card optically recognizes information corresponding with gift cards and with gift card boxes to provide gift cards to a customer by assigning gift cards and gift card boxes to a customer's account in a gift card management system and to load a customer specified value to a non-activated gift card assigned in the gift card management system to customer's account.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREPAID PAYMENT CARDS AND DIGITAL WALLET
A computing system has a communication interface for receiving, from a gift bag wallet application operating on a cardholder mobile device, a transfer request to transfer a balance of a prepaid payment card to a cardholder account associated with a cardholder digital wallet. A processor of the mobile device is programmed to determine, from the transfer request, the prepaid payment card issuer and a payment network associated with the prepaid payment card. Using the communication interface, the system transmits, to the prepaid payment card issuer, a balance request message for a balance of the prepaid payment card and receives a balance request response message identifying the balance of the prepaid payment card. The system then transfers the balance of the prepaid payment card from the prepaid payment card issuer to the cardholder account associated with the cardholder digital wallet based on cardholder information of the cardholder account included in the transfer request.
