Detachable radio frequency identification switch tag
A radio frequency identification (RFID) switch tag is disclosed. This RFID switch tag includes a base component having an ultra-high frequency (UHF) booster, and a detachable component having at least one UHF RFID module and a high frequency (HF) RFID module. In some embodiments, the detachable component is positioned in close proximity to the base component in a first configuration of the RFID switch tag such that the at least one UHF RFID module is sufficiently coupled to the UHF booster in the base component to form an UHF RFID system having a desired performance. The detachable component can also be separated from the base component to obtain a second configuration of the RFID switch tag, and the HF RFID module remains functional within the detached detachable component so that the detachable component can be used as a standalone HF RFID tag.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REDEEMING TICKET VOUCHERS
A system and method that provide non-cash avenues to redeem a ticket voucher associated with an amount of funds.
Stored-value card machine
A stored-value card machine includes a card output device including a body unit and a read/write device. The body unit includes a body and a transmission device mounted in the body. The body includes a card outlet in a front end thereof and a card inlet in a rear end thereof. The body further includes a card passageway having two ends intercommunicating with the card outlet and the card inlet, respectively. The transmission device includes two front transmission wheels and two rear transmission wheels located at the two ends of the passageway, respectively. The read/write device is mounted above an intermediate portion of the card passageway. The read/write device includes a read/write seat, a reader/writer mounted in the read/write seat, and a driver mounted in the read/write seat. The driver is configured to move the reader/writer downwards into the card passageway or upwards out of the card passageway.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UTILIZING PREPAID CARDS TO FACILITATE PURCHASES IN ASSOCIATION WITH A GAMING ESTABLISHMENT RETAIL ACCOUNT
A system and method that utilizes funds associated with one or more gaming establishment accounts maintained for a user to procure one or more pre-paid cards associated with a retailer and used to complete one or more purchases of goods and/or services from the retailer. To facilitate the use of pre-paid cards, the system and method automatically issues (if needed) and funds one or more pre-paid cards which are then used by the system to complete a retail purchase.
GIFT CARD USE NOTIFICATION
A system and method for gift card use notification is disclosed. The method receives at a gift card use notification system, an indication that a specific gift card was used for a purchase. The information from the notice is used to identify the customer that had given the specific gift card. Contact information for the customer that had given the specific gift card is determined. The gift card use notification system provides to the customer, via the contact information, a use notification indicating that the specific gift card had been used.
SWITCH CARD OR DEVICE AND SYSTEM WITH MULTIPLE SECURE ELEMENTS
A device, such as a flexible card, may include a secure element to store first card information, a second secure element to store second card information, and a slider to select between secure elements.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REAL-TIME VIRTUAL GIFT CARD PURCHASING
A computer-implemented method for allowing purchase of virtual gift cards includes receiving a communication indicating a gift card type and specifying a value amount. Responsive to the communication, a purchase of a virtual gift card of that type and storing that value amount is processed. This processing includes processing a payment for the specified value amount. Further, a gift card merchant application programming interface (API) capable of processing a purchase of a virtual gift card of the indicated gift card type is identified from amongst a set of such APIs. That API is used to initiate purchase of the virtual gift card. After the purchase is processed, an indication of the purchased virtual gift card is sent to a mobile computing device. The mobile computing device uses the indication to configure itself to allow transactions using the purchased virtual gift card to be initiated. Fraud detection may also be performed.
System and method for using a boarding pass to facilitate financial transactions
Systems and methods provide for using a boarding pass as a financial instrument to make payments and other financial transactions. A passenger name record, a standardized computer reservation system protocol, can be associated with one or more financial accounts. When a point of sale device scans the boarding pass, either on a mobile device, or a traditional paper boarding pass, the passenger name record can be used to find a travel itinerary associated with the customer. By matching the travel itinerary to location of the point of sale device, and the time, payments can be authorized, and then initiated using financial account information associated with the passenger name record.
PROVIDING ALERTS VIA A COLOR CHANGING TRANSACTION CARD
Methods and systems disclosed herein may communicate information, such as alerts and notifications, to a cardholder via a color-changing transaction card. In particular, the cardholder may configure one or more thresholds that establish when a transaction card may change colors. For instance, a transaction card may change colors at, or while approaching, a first threshold. The transaction card may change colors at, or while approaching, a second threshold. Using the techniques described herein a financial institution may convey information to a cardholder in a way that does not require the cardholder to digital engage with the financial institution.
Systems for providing electronic items having customizable locking mechanism
A method for providing a locked electronic item includes receiving a selection of an electronic lock and the electronic item from a first computing device associated with a sender. The electronic lock includes a lock clue and a lock solution. The method includes determining an answer input field configuration that includes a number of input boxes and spaces that may be arranged to correspond to the lock solution. The method includes transmitting the lock clue and the input field configuration to a second computing device associated with a recipient for display by the second computing device and receiving an attempted lock solution from the second computing device. The method further includes transmitting the electronic item to the second computing device for display or use by the second computing device in response to determining that the attempted lock solution matches the lock solution.
