Systems, methods and devices to facilitate secure purchases of cryptocurrencies

There is provided a physical redemption device such as a card and a system for purchasers to buy cryptocurrencies through a digital sale system. Cards are printed and packaged using a printer system to include a (secret) unique redemption code in a tamper resistant/tamper evident manner as well as a viewable unique verification code. The cards are distributed through retailers, similar to gift cards, for redemption via an online store or mobile application. Retailers activate the cards for purchasing. The redemption process is provided by an electronic interface (e.g. software system) that provides access to buy a cryptocurrency, preferably from among many different kinds of cryptocurrencies. Redemption uses the respective redemption code applied to each card. The verification code may be used to verify the authenticity and redeemability of the card prior to or after purchase.

UNIVERSAL TRANSPONDER

An account is managed using information read from a dual frequency transponder. Information stored on the dual frequency transponder can be read by a NFC-enabled device and by a UHF RFID reader. The information links, corresponds, or otherwise provides access to account information stored at a remote server. For example, a NFC-enabled device can read the information from the dual frequency transponder and use that information to enable instant and on-the-spot recharging of a toll account. In addition, a UHF RFID toll reader can scan information from the dual frequency transponder and use that information to debit toll charges from the correct toll account. The dual frequency transponder can be embedded in a license plate and read using a reader placed in the road. Additionally, the transponder can be configured to function at the correct frequency only when a valid vehicle registration sticker is applied to the license plate.

20190016585 · 2019-01-17 ·

A wholesale gas discount card system allows an oil company to provide a uniform percentage discount across regions where the wholesale price per gallon varies and at the same time allows consumers to get a discount on the retail price per gallon of gas. The wholesale gas discount card system operates as a subscription system in which only subscribing consumers are able to receive discounts at participating retail gas stations. The discount is based upon a predetermined amount of the wholesale price component of the retail gas price per gallon, for example 5%. The percentage wholesale price discounts can vary depending on the gasoline type, i.e. regular, mid-range, premium and diesel. In this way, a wholesaler can control their price margin across regions with varying wholesale price components per gallon. Participating consumers can download a software application onto their smart phone that provides the locations of participating retail gas stations in a given area and the discounted retail gas prices per gallon. Once a retail station is selected, the consumer inserts a discount credit card into the gas dispenser. The system uses the account information from the credit card and the location of the gas pump to process the transaction as the consumer pumps gas into their vehicle. The gas is charged to their credit account. Based upon a predetermined discount, the total discounted cost of the transaction is determined back office and credited on the consumer's account and optionally displayed on the pump.

The reusable printed card is a physical card such as a greeting card, postcard or business card, with an embedded RFID chip, specifically NFC (Near Field Communication), and a QR (Quick Response) Code, wherein the contents, such as text messages, photos, and audio-visual contents composed or arranged by the sender can be read and then be modified, to reuse it, eventually by the recipient using one's personal NFC-enabled device such as smartphone, or tablet. The computer application residing on the central server identifies the content and card information via the NFC or QR Code that is transmitted via the recipient's personal device through the internet, then simulating the printed card and displaying the actual contents on the personal device upon scanning the card. The history of the contents of each card is kept and are readily available for the sender's and recipients' memory-sake and for social media purposes under the sender's and recipient's account stored on the central server, and/or in their personal devices' local storage in the case of business card information for instance.
