The credit card type device includes controller circuitry to control operations of the device-to-device communication port and the authentication mechanism. The credit card type device includes an output device to display information associated with the access authentication and the financial transaction.

One exemplary method generally includes obtaining, by a computing device, a product identifier where the product identifier is indicative of at least the product and/or a product category associated with the product, and transmitting, by the computing device, at least the product identifier to the authority. The method also generally includes receiving, by the computing device, a purchase eligibility criteria associated with the product identifier and displaying, at the computing device, a valid indicator, when the product satisfies the purchase eligibility criteria, thereby permitting the consumer to purchase the product with confidence that said purchase complies with the eligibility criteria defined by the authority.

System and method for providing emergency prepaid card

Systems and methods are provided for providing and funding an emergency prepaid card. According to one aspect, a request for emergency funds is received by a payment network from a customer and a first session between the payment network and a financial institution is established. A debit order for a first account is submitted, a transaction to fund a second account is authorized, an issue code is generated, and the issue code is provided to the customer. A second session is established between the payment network, a merchant, and a gift card activator, wherein the issue code and an emergency prepaid card number are provided to the gift card activator, the second account is funded and associated with the card number, and the card number is activated. According to another aspect, the card number is associated with a credit balance from the gift card activator rather than the second account.

Method and apparatus for fuel island authorization for trucking industry using proximity sensors

A fuel authorization program based on equipping fuel station, fuel pumps, and vehicles with components to enable automatic fuel authorization for enrolled vehicles. The program includes fuel pumps including a pump transmitting sensor that automatically emits a pump ID. As a vehicle pulls in next to the pump a vehicle coupling receiving sensor detects the pump ID signal and a proximity link is created. The vehicle sensor passes the pump ID via hardwire or Bluetooth to vehicle fuel authorization processor (which can be part of a telematics device). The vehicle processor transmits the pump ID (and any fuel authorization credentials needed, such as a PIN or VIN) via WI-FI to a Station processor for fuel vendor authorization. If approved, the pump is enabled. As the vehicle moves away the coupling sensor link is broken and the vehicle transmits a disconnect message via Wi-Fi and the pump is disabled.

In embodiments of the present invention, methods are provided for maintaining a plurality of public addresses, and a plurality of virtual representations of a plurality of respective items. For each virtual representation, a set of digital tokens may respectively correspond to an item represented by the virtual representation, and each digital token may be cryptographically linked with the corresponding virtual representation. Owners of a token may request redemption of the digital token and have ownership information and fulfillment details verified. Fulfillment details may be provided to a fulfillment system that satisfies transactions for items.

Tokenization platform

A tokenization platform that utilizes smart contracts for facilitating token-based transactions for items is disclosed. The system includes an item management system that generates a virtual representation of an item based on item attributes thereof and that generates a smart contract that defines conditions for self-executing a transaction relating to the item. The system includes a tokenization system that generates a digital token that corresponds to the item that is cryptographically linked to the virtual representation thereof. The system also includes a ledger update system that updates a cryptographic ledger with the virtual representation, the digital token, and the smart contract corresponding to the virtual representation, wherein in response to determining that the set of verifiable conditions are satisfied, the smart contract instructs the ledger update system to transfer the digital token to an account of a user that transacted for the item.
