A transaction card product comprising a transaction card, an account identifier, a security panel, and an activation code. The account identifier uniquely links the transaction card to a remote account having a balance value available for redemption toward one or more of goods or services. The security panel is coupled to the transaction card and substantially entirely covers the account identifier. The security panel is configured to be at least partially removed from a remainder of the transaction card product to permit access to the account identifier. The activation code has data therein to prompt a point-of-sale terminal to begin a transaction card activation process, the activation code having a first portion directly secured to and extending over the security panel, wherein the activation code is characterized by an absence of any data directly identifying the remote account.

Customized retail send transaction method and system

A system and method for performing customized money transfer send transactions uses a computer system connectable to receive data representing a send transaction identifier of at least one token. The computer system presents to the sender a completion interface that includes fields for receiving sender identification information, recipient identification information and a notification method, and message options related to the transaction. In response to receipt of sufficient information entered at the completion interface, an active, funded send transaction record is stored in the computer system including the message options for recipient notification.

In one embodiment, a method includes, by one or more computing devices associated with a payment service (PS), assigning a first payment card number of a first plurality of payment card numbers to an account of a user, wherein the first plurality of payment card numbers is issued from a first issuer processor. The PS detecting an event affecting the use of the first payment card in a transaction. The PS, in response to detecting the event, accessing a second plurality of payment card numbers issued from a second issuer processor and assigning a second payment card number of the second plurality of payment card numbers to the account of the user. The PS receiving an indication that a status of the event has changed. The PS, in response to receiving the indication, automatically enabling, the first payment card number for use in transactions for the account of the user.

A method for transferring funds includes: 1) receiving, from a first user, a request to transfer a stored value to a second user; 2) identifying, based on a first user token and from a user database, a first entry containing information of a payment account of the first user; 3) causing a payment server to transfer funds corresponding to the stored value from the payment account of the first user to a stored-value account that is associated with a stored-value token; 4) associating the stored-value token with a second entry identifying a second user; 5) receiving a payment request initiated by the second user; 6) identifying the second entry based on a second user token included in the payment request; 7) updating funds in the stored-value account based on the payment request; and 8) transmitting at least a portion of the stored value to a merchant based on the update.

Database management for stored value mediums

In some implementations, a device may receive an indication of information associated with a stored value medium. The device may populate a database with the information associated with the stored value medium, where the database includes a table to link the information associated with the stored value medium with an entity identifier of an entity associated with the stored value medium. The device may receive an indication of an exchange associated with the entity identifier of the entity, where the exchange is not associated with the stored value medium. The device may parse the database using the entity identifier associated with the entity to identify the information associated with the stored value medium indicated in the database. The device may communicate, with a backend system, to enable the exchange to be at least partially completed using the resources associated with the stored value medium.

Short-term authorized pass

A short-term authorized pass is disclosed. The method receives a request for a short-term authorized pass to be generated from a credit account of a first party and provided to a second party, the request includes an amount allocated to the short-term authorized pass. A sub-account is generated from the credit account by allocating a part of the credit account to form the sub-account. The credit limit on the sub-account is set to the amount identified by the first party, a virtual account number (VAN) is assigned to the sub-account, and the VAN of the sub-account is linked to the credit account. The short-term authorized pass is generated, using the VAN of the sub-account, and is provided to the second party. However, no funds are taken from the credit account of the first party until the short-term authorized pass is used.
