Systems and methods of adjusting a length of fabric are disclosed. In one form, a system is disclosed for adjusting a length of fabric, said system including: a fabric body having at least one edge portion; at least one extension piece of fabric having an inner edge portion and an opposed outer edge portion and extending distally away from the at least one edge portion in an edge portion to edge portion arrangement. The at least one extension piece is sewn to the at least one edge portion with at least one release thread and at least one tab operably associated with an end of the at least one thread. The length of fabric is adjusted by moving the at least one tab and pulling the at least one release thread to release and separate the at least one extension piece from the fabric body.

An article of clothing for use with an animal having adjustable length leggings is provided. The article of clothing has a plurality of leggings sized to cover a portion of the animal's legs, either two or four of the legs. Internal to the leggings are one or more straps that may be utilized to secure, via a fastener system, the leggings in a rolled up arrangement. By utilizing the adjustable leggings, appropriate levels of warmth and comfort may be provided for the animal.

The present disclosure provides devices for embellishing or adjusting the length of pant legs and/or sleeves of clothing items, and methods of making and using same.

A clamping member uses Velcro fastening elements or snap buttons to lock a planar object of an absorbent member, and the clamping member can provide secured positioning, increased friction, and load distribution so that the absorbent member can be reliably worn. The clamping member contains a clamping element that is concealed when not in use. The clamping element then can be flipped to further secure its locking the absorbent member.

A modifiable swim short for use in a pool or an open water source includes a chassis that has a front waist section, a back waist section, and a crotch section. Descending below the front, back, and crotch sections may be a first leg portion and a second leg portion. The first leg portion may include a plurality of first segments that begin proximate a first leg opening and proceed upward toward the crotch section. The second leg portion may include a plurality of second segments that begin proximate a second leg opening and proceed upward toward crotch section. As a user removes segments from the first and second leg portions, the user becomes less dependent on the shorts and learns proper swimming technique.

Disclosed are embodiments of a multi-use article that can function as a jacket, carrying bag, blanket and/or pillow. In one embodiment, a multi-use article includes a first portion (torso cover) and a second portion (leg cover) releasably coupled by a fastener. The leg cover can include another fastener along axial edges of the leg cover to releasably couple its axial edges and form an enclosure. The leg cover can include a third fastener along a distal edge of the leg cover to provide the bottom of a bag when the third fastener is closed. When released from the leg cover, the torso cover can be used as a jacket, for example. When released from the torso cover, the leg cover can be configured as a blanket, carrying bag, and/or pillow (or pillow case). The torso cover can be inserted into a suitably configured leg cover to form a pillow.

A strapless multi-use garment comprises an upper garment portion designed to cover an area above waist of a user having a front portion and a rear portion, a gathered skirt having a front portion and a rear portion attached with the upper garment portion, a waist band attached at a top portion of the gathered skirt, a plurality of front panels attached at the front portion of the gathered skirt, a plurality of rear panels is attached at the rear portion of the gathered skirt and at least one fastening means. An adaptive wearable article can include an electroadhesive clutch secured to a textile and extending around at least a portion of an opening. The clutch can include a first conductive member and a first polymeric substrate applied to the first conductive member and having a stiffness greater than a stiffness of the first conductive member, and the clutch can include a second electrode assembly comprising a second conductive member configured to partially overlay the first conductive member. The second electrode assembly can include a second conductive member and a second polymeric substrate applied to the second conductive member, the second polymeric substrate having a stiffness greater than a stiffness of the second conductive member, wherein the first and second conductive members are proximate each other with the first and second polymeric substrates distal with respect to each other.

In some embodiments, the inventive subject matter is directed to a modular waders system that includes: a main waders garment and a covering unit. The covering unit may have multiple functions expressed in one or more layers, the functions being selected from the group of: durability, waterproofness or water resistance, breathability, insulation, cushioning, thermoregulation, and 2-way or 4-way elasticity. The waders system includes a coupling system that makes the covering unit easily donned or removed by the user as conditions dictate. In some embodiments, the inventive subject matter is directed to waders or other garment having a frontside portion with a mobile device holder comprising a flap, the holder configured to contain or couple to a handheld imaging device having a camera, the flap having one edge portion coupled to the other side so that the flap can reposition from a first position to a second position.
