System and method enabling mobile near-field communication to update display on a payment card
Disclosed are a system and methods enabling updating of a card number of a payment card and thereby reissuing the payment card utilizing a reissue application associated with the payment card. The reissue application, when executed communicates with a service provider that manages the payment card. The payment card includes processing circuity and a rewriteable visual display. Using cryptographic techniques, the reissue application and payment card are authenticated to the service provider. Upon verification, an updated card number is obtained and provided via near-field communication to the payment card. In response to the update payment card number received from the reissue application, the rewriteable visual display on the payment card is updated with the updated card number. Other information may also be presented on the rewriteable visual display of the payment card based on user preferences.
CONTACTLESS CARD EMULATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method are described that enables mobile devices (e.g. including but not limited to a mobile phone or the like), to intercept and respond to contactless card authentication requests, allowing mobile devices to be used in place of contactless cards. Enabling mobile phone devices to emulate contactless cards decreases issues related to lost or damaged cards, enabling a single device to be used to provide tokens related to multiple different contactless cards, and leverages functionality of the mobile device to provide dual-factor authentication.
System and method for processing secure transactions using account-transferable transaction cards
In a method for activating account-variable transaction cards having private and public card encryption keys stored therein, private and public personal keys are associated with an account and transmitted to an account holder device. A request for activation of an account-variable transaction card is received by a central processor from the user device. The request includes information encrypted using at least the private personal key and the private card key. The central processor associates an account function with the account-variable transaction card and initiates via a first node in a distributed consensus network, an account blockchain associated with the account and the account-variable transaction card.
INTELLIGENT CARD UNLOCK
Various examples generally directed to unlocking a locked contactless card for use as payment in card-present transactions are provided. The contactless card is a payment card associated with a payment account. An application executing on a mobile device may be operable to enable unlocking the locked contactless card and receive an indication that the contactless card associated with the mobile device is unlocked for use in card-present transactions. The application may present information related to permitted uses of the unlocked contactless card via a graphical user interface. The permitted uses of the unlocked contactless card may be modified via the graphical user interface.
Dynamic transaction card for visual impairment and methods thereof
A dynamic transaction card that includes a number of layers, each of which may be interconnected to one another. For example, a dynamic transaction card may include an outer layer, a potting layer, a touch sensor layer, a display layer (including, for example, LEDs, a dot matrix display, and the like), a microcontroller storing firmware, Java applets, Java applet integration, and the like, an EMV chip, an energy storage component, one or more antenna (e.g., Bluetooth antenna, NFC antenna, and the like), a power management component, a flexible printed circuit board (PCB), a chassis, and/or a card backing layer. The card includes a secure element to receive visual impairment settings and alert data. A microprocessor can convert the alert data into impairment data based on the visual impairment settings. A display is generated based on the impairment data.
Transaction authorization
Methods, apparatus and computer programs for authorizing transactions are described. A server system receives, from a first computing device, verification information relating to a verification process for verifying a user associated with the first computing device. A verification status associated with the user is set in a memory of the server system, based on the verification information. The server system receives an authorization request for a payment transaction from a payment terminal, the request including an identifier associated with the user, and having been provided to the payment terminal by a payment device different from the first computing device. Responsive to receipt of the authorization request, the verification status associated with the user is identified, and a determination as to whether to authorize the payment transaction is made at least partly on the basis of the identified verification status.
Virtual code-based control system, method, and program, control device, and control signal generating means
The present invention relates to virtual code-based control system, method and program, a control device and a control signal generating means. A control method on the basis of a control signal comprising a virtual code according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a control signal receiving step for a control module receiving, from a control signal generating means, a control signal generated by means of combining a plurality of specific codes in accordance with a particular rule; a step for the control module extracting the plurality of specific codes comprised in the virtual code; and a command searching step for the control module searching for a storage location comprising a particular command on the basis of the plurality of specific codes.
System and Method for Authorizing Temporary Use of Accounts
A system and method are provided for authorizing temporary use of accounts. The method is executed by a system and includes detecting that an account holder has selected a payment card to be shared with a recipient, the payment card being associated with an account. The method also includes determining a spending limit for the payment card by the recipient that has been set by the account holder and generating a pending transaction for the payment card with an amount corresponding to the spending limit and against which purchases made by the recipient are deducted. The method also includes providing the recipient with an electronic mechanism to add a temporary payment card to an application on a mobile device associated with the recipient, the temporary payment card being linked to the account to have purchases made using the temporary payment card be applied to that account. The method also includes detecting a purchase made by the recipient using the temporary payment card and modifying the pending transaction details based on the detected purchase.
USER AUTHENTICATION AT A KIOSK DEVICE
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for authenticating a user at a kiosk device based on a unique token received by a client device to verify that an identity of the user is authentic, and further permit the user to access an account at the kiosk device. The unique token can be generated responsive to receiving an electronic notification that a card to access the kiosk device associated with the account has been reported lost or stolen. The unique token can be transmitted to the client device associated with the account and the user. The user can be authenticated when the unique token is received from the kiosk device responsive to input data provided by the user. Once authenticated, the user can access the account at the kiosk device.
Virtualized magnetic player card
A method of implementing a player tracking system in a gaming network includes receiving a virtual player tracking card identifier and a virtual player tracking card password, authenticating the identifier and the password; receiving a virtual player tracking card PIN, identifying a gaming machine that transmitted the virtual player tracking card PIN, and crediting an account associated with the virtual player tracking card PIN based on game play on the gaming machine.
