Method and system for issuer-defined prompts and data collection

A method for providing scripts for execution as part of an electronic transaction includes: storing, in a memory of an integrated circuit payment card, at least one or more executable scripts, payment credentials, and a cryptogram rule; receiving, by a receiving device of the integrated circuit payment card, a transaction request from a point of sale device, wherein the transaction request includes at least one or more transaction items and a script request; generating, by a generation module of the integrated circuit payment card, at least one payment cryptogram based on at least the cryptogram rule and at least one of the one or more transaction items; and electronically transmitting, by a transmitting device of the integrated circuit payment card, at least one of the one or more executable scripts, the payment credentials, and the generated at least one payment cryptogram to the point of sale device.

Trusted pair authentication with edge-computing devices

Apparatus and methods are provided for executing a rules-based authentication of an electronic transaction. The method may include receiving first and second payment authorization parameters and second payment authorization parameters. The method may also include receiving from a Point of Sale device a request for payment information and a purchase amount. The method may also include, determining if first or second parameters are satisfied. The first parameters may include a first time range, a pairing of the electronic device to a first apparatus, a first geolocation of the electronic device, and a first maximum transaction value. The second parameters may include a second time range, a pairing of the electronic device to a second apparatus, a second geolocation of the electronic device, and a second maximum transaction value, wherein the second time range does not include the first time range.

System and method for observability, dashboard, alerting and pro-active action mechanism

A system and method for observability, dashboard, alerting and pro-active action framework for card authorizations application are disclosed. A receiver receives a payment authorization request message having a predefined first format via a communication protocol TCPIP socket including an application process called socket manager corresponding to a card transaction. A processor operatively connected to the processor via a communication network collects application data from the message in connection with the card transaction; aggregates and stores the application data onto a dynamically allocated shared memory; reads the aggregated application data from the shared memory; stores the application data in an individual transient data queue attached to the socket manager; converts, in response to reading, the predefined first format of the payment authorization request message to a predefined second format suitable for publishing onto a desired messaging platform; and publishes the converted message onto the desired messaging platform.

[Problem] To assist a user to use a card with which the user can receive a beneficial reward. [Solution] An information system including: a store information storage unit in which one or more pieces of store information are stored, each piece of store information including a store identifier that identifies a store, and two or more pieces of card information each including a card identifier that identifies a card that is available at the store and reward information regarding a reward that is to be gained when the card is used; a store specifying information accepting unit that accepts store specifying information that specifies a store at which a card is used; an owned-card specifying information acquisition unit that acquires owned-card specifying information that specifies two or more cards owned by a user; a reward-related information acquisition unit that uses two or more pieces of reward information included in card information regarding two or more cards corresponding to two or more pieces of card information included in store information regarding a store specified by the store specifying information, out of two or more cards specified by the owned-card specifying information, to acquire reward-related information related to reward information regarding two or more cards that the user can use at the store; and a reward-related information output unit that outputs the reward-related information.

COMPUTER-BASED SYSTEMS AND METHODS INVOLVING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION ASPECTS FOR HANDLING EXCEPTIONS, ENABLING DEACTIVATION AND/OR PERFORMING OTHER FUNCTIONALITY
20220300779 · 2022-09-22 ·

Systems and methods involving biometric authentication of transaction cards including aspects of exception handling, deactivation and other features are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exemplary implementation may involve generating a first user interface having one or more interactive UI elements that enable a card owner to manage a plurality of features associated with a transaction card, and determining, if a biometric-activated control is enabled and the vendor is not excluded from the biometric-activated control, whether the transaction card is biometrically-active. Further, the interactive UI elements may include elements such as a first UI element that is configured to allow the card owner to enable a biometric-activated control of the transaction card, and/or a second UI element that is configured to allow the card owner to exclude one or more vendors from the biometric-activated control.

EXTENSIBLE INTERFACE FOR SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS PAYMENT

An applications programming interface (API) or other interface may be configured for use with a plurality of e-commerce applications and/or a plurality of payment systems. The API may be associated with an operating system of a client or may be otherwise located in an e-commerce system or network. The API may receive a call regarding a purchase transaction. The purchase transaction may be examined to determine if a payment method is synchronous or asynchronous. An appropriate payment system may be activated to perform the purchase transaction based at least in part on the determination made by the examination of the purchase transaction. A result of the purchase transaction may be sent to the e-commerce program. By revision of the API, developers of e-commerce applications are freed from the burden of revising code in response to the need to utilize additional or differently operated payment systems.

PROFILE ASSOCIATION AND TRANSACTION AUTHORIZATION BASED ON TRANSACTION TYPE

A payment service system receives a transaction instrument identifier of a transaction instrument, and associates the transaction instrument with an account associated with a first user. The system identifies rules that identify whether to request authorization from a second user to process respective transactions that involve the transaction instrument and that are associated with one of a set of transaction types. The system receives a transaction indication indicating a request to use the transaction instrument for a transaction. The system determines, based on information about the transaction and the one or more rules, that the transaction is categorized into a first transaction type. The rules indicate that the authorization from the second user is to be requested for the first transaction type. The system receives an authorization to process the transaction from a user device associated with the second user, and automatically facilitates processing of the transaction.

Methods and systems for verification of operations of computer terminals and processing networks

A verification computing system for verifying operation of a payment terminal and a payment processing network linking the payment terminal to a payment processor is provided. The verification computing system includes at least one verification computing module including at least one processor. The verification computing module is programmed to receive a test request message corresponding to a test payment card transaction from the payment terminal, identify a void flag included in the test request message, and bypass a settlement process for the test payment card transaction based on the identified void flag. The verification computing module is further configured to determine an operating status of the payment terminal and the payment processing network, generate a test response message based upon the determination, and transmit the test response message to the payment terminal for notifying a user.
