Smart card with built-in support provisioning mechanism
11321703 · 2022-05-03 · ·

Systems and methods for augmenting a dedicated payment instrument to leverage built-in access to real-time support from a central system are provided. Methods may be executed via computer-executable instructions that are stored in a non-transitory memory of the instrument and run on a microprocessor embedded in the instrument. Methods may include receiving a request from a user of the instrument, via one or more sensors, to initiate a support session. The sensors may include a camera, a microphone, and/or a tactile sensor. Methods may include transmitting the request to the central system via a wireless communication element, and receiving, from the central system, support session data. Methods may also include displaying, on a display screen, information based on the support session data.

COMBINED EVENT DRIVER AND FINANCIAL CARD
20220129720 · 2022-04-28 ·

Combined use transaction cards are disclosed including preferably the functionality of being usable for conducting a financial transaction along with the additional functionality for activation or access to at least one other event. Many types of non-financial events are contemplated such as for access or entry, employee need, student need, and the like. Such cards preferably utilize electronically readable means as may be provided to such cards, such as including magnetic stripes, RFID transponders, OCR text, and one dimensional or two dimensional bar codes.

Profile generation and association with multiple transaction cards contemporaneously
11315108 · 2022-04-26 · ·

A payment service generates multiple user profiles, each profile associated with a different user. Each user profile may be linked to multiple transaction cards and multiple numerical balances. Multiple transaction cards can be linked to a same numerical balance—even if the cards are from different user profiles. Restrictions, such as transaction type blacklists and whitelists or parent/guardian permission relationships, can be placed on particular numerical balances, or on access to particular numerical balances by particular cards. Numerical balances and transactions using particular cards may be tracked using user profiles with access to those cards and numerical balances.

SECURITY DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR DYNAMIC TRANSACTION CARDS

A dynamic transaction card including: one or more light emitting elements; a transceiver; and an embedded microprocessor configured to: receive, from a transaction terminal, a location information corresponding to a current location of the transaction terminal; wirelessly transmit, via the transceiver and to a mobile device, the location information; receive an indication that a location-specific security concern exists; and in response to receiving the indication, control the one or more light emitting elements to display a visual indication corresponding to the location-specific security concern.

Systems and methods for authenticating users

Systems and methods for verifying users in connection with transactions using biometric payment card devices are disclosed. One exemplary biometric payment card device generally includes a card body, a fingerprint sensor, a modem, and a processor coupled to the modem and the fingerprint sensor, where each of the fingerprint sensor, the modem, and the processor are disposed on the card body. The processor of the payment card device is configured to capture, via the fingerprint sensor, a fingerprint of a user associated with the payment account, compare the captured fingerprint to a reference fingerprint stored in memory in communication with the processor, and then compile and transmit, by the modem, an authentication result to an issuer of the payment account and/or a payment network associated with the payment account in response to the user being authenticated, or not, based on the comparison of the captured fingerprint and the reference fingerprint.

Multi-function transaction card

A multi-function transaction card may determine whether to submit a first payment as a passive payment device or to receive a second payment from another transaction card. The multi-function transaction card may have a length and a width that are in accordance with a standard for transaction cards. The multi-function transaction card may selectively perform a payment transaction based on determining whether to submit the first payment or to receive the second payment. The payment transaction may be performed by providing first card data to a transaction terminal for processing when the multi-function transaction card is to submit the first payment. The payment transaction may be performed by receiving second card data from the other transaction card, and processing the second card data via online data authentication, or via offline data authentication, when the multi-function transaction card is to receive the second payment.

Wait times at ATMs may undermine the utility of these self-service machines. ATMs are configured to provide faster self-service kiosks that allow users to quickly perform common financial transactions. However, it has bees increasing common for users to have to wait on a line to access an ATM. Apparatus and methods are provided for a smart card that stages transactions by capturing the amount, pin and other necessary information on the smart card itself, before the user begins interacting with the ATM. Information captured by the smart card may be transferred to ATM when the smart card is inserted into ATM. The user does not provide the ATM with any additional information after inserted the smart card into the ATM, thereby improving the transaction processing efficiency of the ATM and enhancing user satisfaction.

A system includes one or more memory devices storing instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform steps of a method. The system may receive an authentication request from a computing device and determine whether the authentication request corresponds with stored authentication data. Based on the determination, the system may store identification data associated with a smart device corresponding to the authentication request. The system may receive detection data when the smart device is detected within a predetermined area and, in response to a detection, obtain an identifier from the smart device. The system may determine whether the obtained identifier corresponds with the stored identification data. Based on the determination, the system may direct an electronic lock to transition from a locked state to an unlocked state.
