A parking locator system providing variably priced parking includes one or more parking sensors and one or more parking kiosks. The parking sensors may generate parking information identifying one or more occupied parking spaces and one or more unoccupied parking spaces within a vicinity. Promotion information including one or more discounts to parking fees may be received at the parking kiosks. The parking kiosks may display the discounted parking fees and receive payment of the same. The discounts to parking fees may expire at particular times. The size of the discounts may be set based on traffic congestion, which may be determined based on the number of occupied parking spaces within the vicinity.

Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission system between transmitting and receiving devices are provided. In an embodiment, each of the transmitting and receiving devices can contain a master key. The transmitting device can generate a diversified key using the master key, protect a counter value and encrypt data prior to transmitting to the receiving device, which can generate the diversified key based on the master key and can decrypt the data and validate the protected counter value using the diversified key.

The platform comprises means for distributing or broadcasting digital assets to mobile devices in conjunction with an object providing dynamic sources of context information. The present disclosure is directed to gift card exchange kiosks and associated methods of use. In one embodiment, for example, a consumer operated kiosk can receive a gift card identifier associated with a gift card via a user interface and/or a card reader, verify the gift card's activation status and/or face value, and display exchange options for a consumer. The exchange options can include exchanging the gift card for cash or a redeemable cash voucher. The kiosk can also store exchanged gift cards for later sale at the kiosk or at a remote location.

A display system includes display devices each associated with an area for displaying a commodity, and a server including: an interface communicating with the devices and a terminal operated by a customer, a memory storing commodity codes of commodities, each in association with any coupon applicable to the corresponding commodity, and customer IDs of customers, each in association with any coupon issued thereto, and a processor: acquiring a first customer ID and first information from a first terminal, the first information indicating a current position thereof, determining a first area corresponding to the position, determining that a first coupon is associated with the first customer ID and applicable to a first commodity displayed in the first area, and control the interface to transmit a first command indicating the first commodity, causing a first display device in the first area to display information related to the first commodity.

An athletic device is worn by a participant during an athletic event (e.g., a race). In one example, a race course is provided with a plurality of mats or signal devices along the race course. The mats may have antennas and generate a magnetic field. The device may include a chip system having an RFID tag and a display. As the participant progress along the course, the tag is triggered at each mat and race data may be displayed on the device. Data relating to a location of the participant may also be provided to the participant during the athletic event.
