Embedding Signals in a Raster Image Processor
20200160481 · 2020-05-21 ·

Image processing technology embeds signal (e.g., digital watermarks) within imagery during a raster image process(or). One claim recites: an image processing method of embedding a signal within imagery using a raster image processing (RIP), comprising: obtaining a plurality of elements representing a signal; and modulating a plurality of print structures within the RIP according to the plurality of elements, in which said modulating varies density, and direction or angle, of the plurality of print structures, and in which said modulating introduces the signal within the imagery. Of course, other claims, combinations and technology are described too.

Smartphone-based methods and systems

Arrangements involving portable devices (e.g., smartphones and tablet computers) are disclosed. One arrangement enables a content creator to select software with which that creator's content should be renderedassuring continuity between artistic intention and delivery. Another utilizes a device camera to identify nearby subjects, and take actions based thereon. Others rely on near field chip (RFID) identification of objects, or on identification of audio streams (e.g., music, voice). Some technologies concern improvements to the user interfaces associated with such devices. Others involve use of these devices in connection with shopping, text entry, sign language interpretation, and vision-based discovery. Still other improvements are architectural in nature, e.g., relating to evidence-based state machines, and blackboard systems. Yet other technologies concern use of linked data in portable devicessome of which exploit GPU capabilities. Still other technologies concern computational photography. A great variety of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

Compensating for geometric distortion of images in constrained processing environments
11875485 · 2024-01-16 · ·

An image processing method determines a geometric transform of a suspect image by efficiently evaluating a large number of geometric transform candidates in environments with limited processing resources. Processing resources are conserved by using complementary methods for determining a geometric transform of an embedded signal. One method excels at higher geometric distortion, and specifically, distortion caused by greater tilt angle of a camera. Another method excels at lower geometric distortion, for weaker signals. Together, the methods provide a more reliable detector of an embedded data signal in image across a larger range of distortion while making efficient use of limited processing resources in mobile devices.

TRACKING ONLINE CONVERSIONS ATTRIBUTABLE TO OFFLINE EVENTS
20240020728 · 2024-01-18 ·

Systems and methods are provided for determining a quantity of network location visitors that are likely generated or encouraged by specific offline events. A corresponding number of leads may then be attributed to and associated with those specific events. Ongoing conversion activity of those visitors may be tracked and associated with the offline events. Conversions of those visitors may be attributed entirely or partially to one or more specific offline events. The effectiveness of each offline may then be evaluated based on aggregate lead and conversion information.

Automatic mass scale online promotion testing
10636052 · 2020-04-28 · ·

Methods and apparatus for implementing automated online promotion testing in an efficient and platform-agnostic manner are disclosed. A test management module interacts with a concept generator module, a promotion analytics module, and agnostically interacts with promotion administering platforms to automatically generate, administer, and analyze a large number of test promotions to online consumers in a manner that minimizes labor-intensive changes to the promotion administering platforms.

Enhancing image quality based on characteristics of a reference region of interest
10621709 · 2020-04-14 · ·

Systems and methods for improving target object visibility in captured images can include an imaging sensor for mounting on an aircraft at a fixed position and orientation. A predetermined portion of the aircraft can appear as a region of interest (ROI) at a predefined location across images captured by the imaging sensor. A processor can receive a first image signal from the imaging sensor and corresponding to a first image that includes the ROI. The processor can determine a first image intensity range of the ROI in the first image and a gain value for modifying the first image or a subsequent image. The processor can cause a second image signal, received from the imaging sensor, to be amplified using the gain value and cause the region of interest in a second image to have a second image intensity range different from the first image intensity range.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WATERMARK EMBEDDING AND EXTRACTING
20200111190 · 2020-04-09 ·

Methods and apparatuses for watermark embedding and extracting are provided. A method for watermark embedding includes obtaining a carrier object and watermark information to be embedded in the carrier object; generating at least one encoding region including the watermark information according to the watermark information, the at least one encoding region including a plurality of template lattices; obtaining a watermark image according to the at least one encoding region; and embedding the watermark image in the carrier object.

Upfront advertisement purchasing exchange

A method, apparatus, system, and computer program product provide the ability to bid for an advertising impression. Via input from an advertising purchaser, a publisher specification is defined. The publisher specification provides impression information regarding impressions desired by the advertising purchaser. An auction is conducted by receiving one or more bids (that comply with the specification) from one or more publishers. A determination is made regarding which of the one or more publishers has provided a successful bid. The advertising purchaser is enabled to provide one or more advertisements to the one or more successful bidding publishers.

Hardware-adaptable watermark systems

There are many advantages to implementing a watermark-based system using dedicated hardware, rather than using software executing on a general purpose processor. These include higher speed and lower power consumption. However, hardware implementations incur substantial design and development costs. Moreover, because each watermarking application has its own design constraints and parameters, it has not been cost-effective to develop a hardware chip design for each, since such chips would typically not be manufactured in volumes sufficient to bring per-unit costs down to an acceptable level. The present technology provides various techniques for making watermarking hardware adaptable, so that a single chip can serve multiple diverse watermark applications. By so-doing, the advantages of hardware implementation are made available where it was formerly cost-prohibitive, thereby enhancing operation of a great variety of watermark-based systems.
