OBJECT DETECTION

A computer that includes a processor and a memory, the memory including instructions executable by the processor can activate a plurality of light sources in an alternating pattern at an illumination frequency and acquire image data depicting light reflected from an object at a timing corresponding to the alternating pattern at the illumination frequency. In response to variations in the light impinging upon the object from the alternating pattern, an object contour can be determined based on estimating one or more object surface normals based on photometric stereo. One or more of object identity and object depth can be determined based on combining the object contour with the image data.

METHOD FOR INSPECTING AN OBJECT

A method for inspecting an object includes determining a first inspection package that includes a first inspection image of the object and a first designation. The method includes determining data indicative of a second inspection package that includes a second inspection image of the object and a second designation. The method includes determining a first property of the object based on the first inspection image of the object, one or more properties maps of the object, and the first designation. The method includes determining a second property of the object based on the second inspection image of the object, the one or more properties maps of the object, and the second designation. The method includes displaying the first property and the second property or displaying data indicative of a comparison of the first property with the second property.

Systems and methods for synthesizing a diamond using machine learning

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for synthesizing a diamond using a diamond synthesis machine. A processor receives a plurality of images of a diamond during synthesis within a diamond synthesis machine, each of the plurality of images captured within a time period. The processor executes a diamond state prediction machine learning model using the plurality of images to obtain a predicted data object, the predicted data object indicating a predicted state of the diamond within the diamond synthesis machine at a time subsequent to the time period. The processor detects a predicted defect, a number of defects, defect types, and/or sub-features of such defects and/or other characteristics (e.g., a predicted shape, size, and/or other properties of predicted contours for the diamond and/or pocket holder) of the predicted state of the diamond. The processor adjusts operation of the diamond synthesis machine.

Method of determining the coherence between a physical object and a numerical model representative of the shape of a physical object

The present invention relates to a method of determining the coherence between a physical object and a numerical model representative of the shape of a physical object, wherein a specific use of the method according to the invention is assessing and quantifying manufacturing defects. The method is characterized by a set of steps comprising: capturing multiple images of the physical object; processing the images to produce a second numerical model of the physical object; in a computer, aligning the first numerical model and the second numerical model to generate a third numerical model according to specific sub-steps, wherein the third numerical model comprises a plurality of points representative of the shape of the captured physical object. Compared with the first numerical model, the third numerical model allows determining a measurement of the coherence between the physical object captured by means of images and the first numerical model representative thereof.

Methods and apparatus for treating a patient. The method includes acquiring a plurality of radio frequency (RF) signals with an ultrasound transducer, each RF signal representing one or more return echoes from a scan line of a pulse-mode echo ultrasound scan. A position of the ultrasound transducer corresponding to each of the acquired RF signals is determined, and a plurality of contour lines generated from the plurality of RF signals. The method estimates a 3-D shape and position of an anatomical feature, such as a joint of patient based on the generated contour lines and corresponding ultrasound transducer positions. An apparatus, or computer includes a processor and a memory with instructions that, when executed by the processor, perform the aforementioned method.
