Arm prosthetic device
A prosthetic arm apparatus comprising a plurality of interconnected segments that provide the prosthetic arm apparatus with substantially the same movement capability and function as a human arm. The segments are connected to one another and connectable to a harness mount that may be adorned by the user. Each segment of the plurality of segments includes an actuator providing a portion of the movement capability, and each segment may operate independently of each of the other segments of the plurality of segments. One segment of the plurality of segments includes a non-backdriving clutch that transfers power from the actuator to an output interface of the segment when the actuator is actuated to generate movement of the output interface in either of two opposing directions and prevents backward transfer of power from the output interface to the actuator of the segment in both of the two opposing directions.
ARM SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Systems and methods are provided for supporting an arm of a user that include a harness configured to be worn on a body of a user; an arm support coupled to the harness configured to support an arm of the user; and one or more compensation elements coupled to the arm support to apply an offset force to at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm. The system may also include one or more of a guard at least partially covering the cassette to protect the user if one or more components of the cassette fail or a locking feature for securing the arm support when not in use. Optionally, the cassette may removably mountable to the arm support.
Arm prosthetic device
A prosthetic arm apparatus including a plurality of segments that provide a user of the prosthetic arm apparatus with substantially the same movement capability and function as a human arm. The segments are connectable to one another and connectable to a prosthetic support apparatus that may be adorned by the user. Each segment of the plurality of segments provides a portion of the movement capability, enabling the plurality of connected segments connected to the harness mount to provide substantially the same movement capability as that lacking in the user.
Compliant force distribution system
The invention is an apparatus, system, and or method that provides a compliant force distribution interface system for prosthetics or orthotics users, to suspend force loads around such user's body segments by utilizing a compliant fabric member adapted for positioning around the user's body segments.
ARTIFICIAL LIMB FOR HOST ASSISTANCE
System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to a device for providing mobility assistance to a user. In one embodiment, a mobility system includes a support component including at least a waist device that is configured to secure the mobility system to the user at a waist area of the user. The mobility system includes a limb attached to the support component and extendable from the support component to a floor when the user is in a standing position. The limb is configured to support the user by providing a rigid structure between the floor and the user. The limb is configured to assist the user in transitioning from a seated position to the standing position by applying a substantially upward force to the user through the support component when transitioning to the standing position.
PROSTHETIC METHOD AND APPARATUS
A method of placing a prosthetic system over a residual limb, said method comprising the steps of: providing the prosthetic system; and placing an outer shell of the prosthetic system on the residual limb having an above-knee amputation, the outer shell at least partially surrounds the residual limb, an outer side and an inner side of the outer shell on opposite sides of the residual limb, an upper edge of the outer side above a greater trochanter, the inner side below a lowest edge of an ischium without being directly below the lowest edge of the ischium.
FLEXIBLE PROSTHETIC LINER AND PROSTHETIC SHAFT SYSTEM
A flexible prosthetic liner having a proximal access opening for a stump of a limb and a distal end region as well as a flexible tension member which is arranged in the distal 5 end region on the prosthetic liner. The tension member is detachably fastened to the prosthetic liner by means of a closure system that can be actuated without a tool. A prosthetic shaft system may be formed by such a prosthetic liner and a prosthetic shaft.
Prosthesis socket with insertion aid
A prosthesis stem includes a stem body for receiving an amputation stump and an insertion aid apparatus, which facilitates the insertion of the amputation stump into the stem body, wherein the insertion aid apparatus comprises an insertion inlay which is connected in the proximal edge region thereof to a holding apparatus which is fixed to the stem body. The insertion inlay has an insertion stocking, which is movable between an outer position, in which the insertion inlay is at least partially located outside of the stem body, and an inner position, in which the insertion stocking covers the stem body.
TRANSFEMORAL LEVEL INTERFACE SYSTEM USING COMPLIANT MEMBERS
A transfemoral prosthetic level socket system for a user's lower limb comprising modular socket components fitted to the individual user's residual limb having a mounting point for an attachment, at least one compliant member attached to at least one stabilizing unit, and at least one second compliant member attached to at least one stabilizing unit wherein the first compliant member and the second compliant member work in cooperation with the stabilizing unit(s) to control bone position and support the limb within the interface.
Prosthetic support socket for an osseointegrated femoral abutment
An osseointegrated abutment support socket for a residual limb in which an osseointegrated abutment has been implanted is described. The osseointegrated abutment support socket may include a distal socket base assembly, multiple longitudinal struts and a percutaneous site protector. The distal socket base assembly may include a base plate, a collar extending proximally from the base plate and forming a receptacle for receiving a distal end of the osseointegrated abutment, and a strut support ring disposed around the collar. The struts are connected at their distal ends to the strut support ring and extend proximally upward. The percutaneous site protector contacts a distal surface of the residual limb near a percutaneous site where the distal end of the osseointegrated abutment exits the residual limb.
