BREAST PROSTHESIS
20180280161 · 2018-10-04 ·

A breast prosthesis is provided for women who have undergone a double (or single) mastectomy. The prosthesis comprises a breast form that substantially resembles a human breast and a back panel to which the breast form can be coupled. The breast form has at least one magnet adjacent a wearer's chest when the prosthesis is worn. The back panel also has at least one magnet that faces outwardly from the chest when the prosthesis is worn. When a wearer wishes to don the prosthesis, she places the back panel against her chest in a desired location, with the magnets facing outwardly. A garment may then be placed over the panel before the breast form is placed over the garment. The back panel and the breast form may then be coupled to one another via their magnets (which attract one another) so that the prosthesis is secured in a desired position.

ADJUSTABLE SEAL SYSTEM, SEAL COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

An adjustable seal system, seal component for use in the system, and method are provided for forming a sealing interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket. The seal component is selectively placed over the outer surface of a suspension liner including a plurality of seal bands, which the seal component may removably and securely engage.

ORTHOPAEDIC DEVICE

The invention relates to an orthopaedic device having at least one wall which at least partly surrounds a stump or appendage when applied; the wall has a variable inner periphery and forms an entry opening; the wall is assigned an actuator, mounted on the orthopaedic device, for at least one actuating element which is mounted on the orthopaedic device and can be used to vary the inner periphery of the wall, wherein at least one sensor device is assigned to the mounting of the actuator and/or the actuating element in order to determine mounting forces of the actuator and/or the actuating element.

ARTIFICIAL LIMB STRUCTURE HAVING MAGNETIC LOCK DEVICE

The disclosure describes an adjustable modular prosthesis system comprising of repeating and interconnecting modular linkages. The modular linkages can be configured in a number of ways to form a network of modular linkages that comprise an adjustable custom socket around the limb of a user. The disclosed system further comprises a tensioning system that allows a user to control the socket's fit around their limb. The disclosed prosthesis system has a very low unique part count, may be mass-produced at low cost, and provides easy-to-use means of adjusting the shape and size of the socket to correspond with changes in a user's limb.

PROSTHETIC WITH INTERCHANGEABLE LINER PADS

The prosthetic device is a general use prosthetic device for shower and daily mobility applications which provides a semi-custom fit. The semi-custom fitment of the leg height and anatomical sizing of the affected leg amputation are possible via configurable liner pads which can be interchanged within the support socket based on need by the wearer. The device is capable of being used on either the left or right leg with no modifications to the device and can be secured to the wearers residual limb via a friction fit between the socket liner and limb. Furthermore, an ergonomic handle and grip provides another point of control for the device to assure safety and security.

Various embodiments of a prosthetics stand having a base with a post that extends upwardly from the base and a holder component coupled to the post and having a pair of holders configured to secure and store one or more lower-extremity prosthetics are disclosed. The pair of holders each defines a circular portion that forms an opening slot configured to allow a lower-extremity prosthetic pass through and be retained within the confines of each respective holder. The prosthetic stand includes a plurality of wheels that allow the prosthetic stand to be mobile and a securing means operable to allow the prosthetics stand to be attached to a structural element, such as a bed or bathtub, to prevent inadvertent movement of the holder component. In some embodiments, the base may have an angled portion that allows the lower-extremity prosthetic to be attached and reattached to an individual in a more natural and convenient manner.
