METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REGISTERING A NEUROSURGICAL PATIENT AND DETERMINING BRAIN SHIFT DURING SURGERY USING MACHINE LEARNING AND STEREOOPTICAL THREE-DIMENSIONAL DEPTH CAMERA WITH A SURFACE-MAPPING SYSTEM
A method for generating an intraoperative 3D brain model while a patient is operated. Before an opening in a patient's skull is made, the method includes: providing a preoperative 3D brain model of a patient's brain and converting it to a preoperative 3D brain point cloud; providing a preoperative 3D face model of a patient's face and converting it to a preoperative 3D face point cloud. After the opening in the patient's skull is made, the method includes: matching the intraoperative 3D face point cloud with the preoperative 3D face point cloud to find a face point transformation; transforming the intraoperative 3D brain point cloud based on said face point cloud transformation; comparing the intraoperative 3D brain point cloud with the preoperative 3D brain point cloud to determine a brain shift; and converting the preoperative 3D brain model to generate an intraoperative 3D brain model based on said brain shift.
SYSTEM, COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM, AND METHOD FOR SEGMENTATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF BRAIN MRI IMAGES
A system and method of 3-D image segmentation of brain images includes obtaining a 3-D MRI image, an employee phase including performing search cycles of generating solutions in a neighborhood, taking into account (a) movement of a bee's current location toward a mean value of a positive direction of a global best location and a positive direction of its own best location, (b) movement of the bee's current location toward the mean value of the positive direction of its own best location and a negative direction of the global best location, and (c) a random number, calculating a fitness value for the solutions based on membership values of pixels and distances between the pixels to cluster centers of pixels until search ends. Image segmentation of the image is performed using centers of clusters.
Methods and systems of multiphase arterial spin labeling
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of multiphase pseudo-continuous arterial spin labeling.
Method and apparatus for actuating a medical imaging device
A method is for actuating a medical imaging device for generating a second three-dimensional image dataset including a target region in a region of interest of a patient with a functional impairment. The method includes providing a first three-dimensional image dataset including the region of interest of the patient; identifying the target region based on the first three-dimensional image dataset, a partial region of the region of interest with the functional impairment being determined; determining an imaging parameter for generating the second three-dimensional image dataset based on the identified target region; and actuating the medical imaging device based on the imaging parameter for the generation of the second three-dimensional image dataset.
Systems and methods to facilitate determination of interaction between medications and the brain using a brain measure and a brain model
Systems and methods that facilitate determining interaction between medications and the brain using a brain measure and a brain model. Hidden nervous system states are difficult to predict, diagnose, and treat with therapeutic medications. A Dual Neural Machine Translation (d-NMT) algorithmic system that utilizes sets of parameters for a relapsing-remitting MS model based on patient medical records and adjusts a method of parameterization to produce a model that can match patients' medical records and medical images. These parameters are can be used by a therapeutic determining model to recommend therapies, doses, and time courses accurately.

At least one example embodiment relates to a computer-implemented method for providing stroke information, the method comprising receiving computed tomography imaging data of an examination area of a patient, the examination area of the patient comprising a plurality of brain regions, at least one brain region of the plurality of brain regions being affected by a stroke, receiving brain atlas data, generating registered imaging data based on the computed tomography imaging data and the brain atlas data, the registered imaging data being registered to the brain atlas data, generating the stroke information regarding the stroke based on a set of algorithms and the registered imaging data, and providing the stroke information.
DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR MIGRAINE HEADACHES
A diagnostic method for determining if a patient is viable candidate for a surgical procedure to permanently eliminate migraine headache pain. The method includes determining if a patient's pain is a migraine pain condition or pain from another medical condition and determining an anatomical location of the determined migraine pain condition. Once the anatomical location is determined, the method correlates the determined anatomical location of the migraine pain condition to a root cause nasal/sinus location and determines a root cause nasal/sinus condition that is causing the patient's migraine pain. Once these diagnostic procedures are complete, the patient may be scheduled for surgery to eliminate the root cause nasal/sinus condition, and thus, permanently eliminate the migraine headache pain.
