Automatic association between physical and visual skin properties

Techniques for automatic association between physical and visual skin properties are provided. A computer system receives a two-dimensional (2D) image and a three-dimensional (3D) image associated with a person and determines surface skin properties using the 2D image and physical skin properties using the 3D image. The computer system generates a skin disorder severity assessment using associations between the surface skin properties and the physical skin properties.

JOINT ESTIMATION OF HEART RATE AND RESPIRATORY RATE USING NEURAL NETWORKS
20230091371 · 2023-03-23 ·

A neural network system leverages dual attention, specifically both spatial attention and channel attention, to jointly estimate heart rate and respiratory rate of a subject by processing images of the subject. A motion neural network receives images of the subject and estimates heart and breath rates of the subject using both spatial and channel domain attention masks to focus processing on particular feature data. An appearance neural network computes a spatial attention mask from the images of the subject and may indicate that features associated with the subject's face (as opposed to the subject's hair or shoulders) to accurately estimate the heart and/or breath rate. Channel-wise domain attention is learned during training and recalibrates channel-wise feature responses to select the most informative features for processing. The channel attention mask is learned during training and can be used for different subjects during deployment.

In one embodiment, a method may include identifying 3D data for a patient with the 3D data including an outer layer and multiple inner layers, determining virtual morphometric measurements of the outer layer from the 3D data, registering a real-time position of the outer layer of the patient in a 3D space, determining real-time morphometric measurements of the outer layer of the patient, automatically registering the position of the outer layer from the 3D data to align with the registered real-time position of the outer layer of the patient in the 3D space using the virtual morphometric measurements and using the real-time morphometric measurements, and displaying, in an augmented reality (AR) headset, one of the inner layers from the 3D data projected onto real-time views of the outer layer of the patient.

COST EFFECTIVE, MASS PRODUCIBLE SYSTEM FOR RAPID DETECTION OF FEVER CONDITIONS BASED ON THERMAL IMAGING
20230084786 · 2023-03-16 ·

Systems and methods based on thermal imaging for rapid detection of fever conditions in humans that provide for extremely inexpensive, mass producible, field deployable devices accurate in specific, relatively low temperature ranges, and in particular temperatures near nominal human body temperature. The system may include a thermal imager tailored for the application and a corresponding mass producible controlled temperature calibration source configured to provide real time calibration near the human body temperature of interest. The imager and source are deployed in a way such that target people and the calibration source will be within the imager FOV for fever detection. The combination of real time near measurement temperature calibration, with suitable thermography approaches, yield fast, accurate measurements in the fever range using low cost, easy-to-produce components. In combination with a visible imager and pattern/facial recognition techniques, detection of a human target's facial regions of interest suitable for fever detection can be accurately accomplished.
