Method for estimating the volume of a remaining fluidum in a non-translucent recipient using an image of the recipient
A method of estimating a volume of a remaining fluidum in a non-translucent recipient having an opening which area is wider than or equal to the area of a bottom of the recipient. The method includes taking a picture of the opening at the top side of the recipient by with camera, deriving from the picture characteristics of a first and second number of pixels representing a visible part of the recipient and a visible part of the fluidum in the recipient, respectively, requesting from a user an identification of the recipient, matching the identification with a stored identification in order to retrieve reference data about an empty recipient, and estimating a volume of the remaining fluidum in the recipient by means of the retrieved reference data and a ratio of the characteristics of the first number of pixels and the characteristics of the second number of pixels.
Multiscale uniformity analysis of a material
A method for characterizing the uniformity of a material includes selecting a set of size scales at which to measure uniformity within an area of interest in an image of the material; suppressing features in the image smaller than a selected size scale of interest within the set of size scales; dividing the image into patches equal to the size scale of interest; and calculating a uniformity value within each patch.
MACHINE VISION SYSTEM FOR INSPECTING QUALITY OF VARIOUS NON-WOVEN MATERIALS
A method for inspecting a non-woven material is provided. The method comprises introducing, by a sonotrode, ultrasonic energy to weld the non-woven material, supporting, by an anvil roll, the non-woven material between the anvil roll and the sonotrode, rotating the anvil roll to transfer the non-woven material in a downstream direction, taking, by an imaging unit disposed downstream of the anvil roll, an image of the non-woven material, and processing the image by an image processing unit. The image processing unit comprises identifying a defect based on the image, classifying the defect into one of a plurality of categories, analyzing a cause of the defect based on the respective category, determining a component causing the defect, and notifying the cause with a recommended remedial action associated with the component.
Methods for Analyzing Absorbent Articles
Methods of analyzing fit and appearance of an absorbent article. The method may include marking a panelist with markers and positioning the panelist in an orientation. The panelist may then be imaged with an image capture device. From the data gathered by the image capture device a first three dimensional surface representation may be generated. The panelist may also be imaged with an absorbent article. The panelist wearing the absorbent article may be placed in the orientation and imaged with the image capture device. The data gathered during the second imaging session may be used to generate a second three dimensional surface representation. Each of the first and second three dimensional surface representations may be aligned using the markers. The first and second three dimensional surface representations may be compared to one another to obtain information on volume, surface area, length, perimeter, and other characteristics.
THERMAL RATING ESTIMATION APPARATUS, THERMAL RATING ESTIMATION METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An evaluation value of a sense of temperature that is closer to human perception is estimated. An image feature amount extraction unit (11) extracts an image feature amount from an input image. A temperature sense estimation unit (12) estimates a temperature sense score from the image feature amount with use of a temperature sense estimation model in which a correlation between the image feature amount and the temperature sense score has been learned in advance. The temperature sense score may be weighted with use of a material weight previously set with respect to the material information corresponding to the input image. As the image feature amount, representative values of coordinates a*, b* in a Lab three-dimensional space or a color histogram in which the Lab three-dimensional space is divided into the predetermined number may be used.
Leather inspection system
A leather inspection apparatus is provided for detecting inconsistencies on both upper and lower surfaces of a hide. It includes a first camera assembly movably coupled to a support frame and capable of movement along the upper surface of the hide and a second camera assembly movably coupled to the support frame and capable of movement along the lower surface of the hide. A computing device is coupled to the first camera assembly and the second camera assembly, such that the first camera assembly detects the locations of inconsistencies in the upper surface of the hide and the second camera assembly detects the locations of inconsistencies in the lower surface of the hide. The computing device digitally stores the locations of the inconsistencies of the upper surface of the hide and the locations of the inconsistencies of the lower surface of the hide.
Image analyzing apparatus and program
Proposed are an image analyzing apparatus and program in which the orientation of fiber bundles can be easily analyzed from a three-dimensional image of CMC. Provided is an image analyzing apparatus for analyzing an orientation of a fiber bundle from a three-dimensional image of a fiber-reinforced composite material, comprising an input unit which inputs the three-dimensional image, a binarization processing unit which binarizes the input three-dimensional image and acquires a binary image, an orientation estimation processing unit which estimates each orientation of foreground pixels in the binary image based on an orientation detection filter having a parameter for causing a shape of a detected cross section to have anisotropy, a center extraction processing unit which extracts center pixels showing a center of the fiber bundle from a foreground pixel group, in which the orientation thereof was estimated, based on the orientation detection filter, a fiber bundle connection processing unit which deems center pixels having a same or similar orientation to be a same fiber bundle with regard to the extracted center pixel group, and connects the center pixels indicating the same fiber bundle, and a meander determination processing unit which calculates a meandering amount of the connected center pixel group indicating the same fiber bundle.
System and method for handbag authentication
Systems and methods for authenticating handbags using a portable electronic device along with a bilinear convolutional neural network (CNN) model are described. One method includes using a portable electronic device comprising a camera, and a lens-accessory attached to the portable electronic device such that an optical feature of the lens-accessory is positioned in front of the camera. The portable electronic device acquires one or more pictures of a handbag and sends the one or more pictures to a bilinear CNN model via a network asset where an authenticity is determined. The systems and methods disclosed are capable of allowing the portable electronic device to be spaced apart from the handbag while acquiring pictures, and the lens-accessory can be between 10× and 50× magnification.
