An input processing method executed by a computer includes receiving a handwriting input on a display screen on which a character is displayed; and in response to detecting that the handwriting input has been performed at a position corresponding to a display position of a specific character displayed on the display screen, executing a process of changing the specific character into a character recognized with respect to the handwriting input.

According to one embodiment, a sorting system has a delivery processing apparatus, a video coding terminal, and a recognition support apparatus. The recognition support apparatus has an information management portion, a correct solution derivation portion, and a machine learning portion. The information management portion acquires an image obtained by imaging a delivery object and keying information. The correct solution derivation portion derives respective correct solutions for a plurality of processings for the image obtained by imaging the delivery object, based on the keying information acquired by the information management portion. The machine learning portion performs machine learning using the respective correct solutions for the plurality of processings derived by the correct solution derivation portion, to adjust the plurality of processings.

System and method for improving recognition of characters. A system for improving recognition of characters is disclosed. In example embodiments, techniques are provided for efficiently labeling, reviewing and correcting predictions for P&IDs in image-only formats. To label text boxes in the P&ID, the labeling application executes an OCR algorithm to predict a bounding box around, and machine-readable text within, each text box, and displays these predictions in its user interface. The labeling application provides functionality to receive a user confirmation or correction for each predicted bounding box and predicted machine-readable text. To label symbols in the P&ID, the labeling application receives user input to draw bounding boxes around symbols and assign symbols to classes of equipment. Where there are multiple occurrences of specific symbols, the labeling application provides functionality to duplicate and automatically detect and assign bounding boxes and classes. To label connections in the P&ID, the labeling application receives user input to define connection points at corresponding symbols and creates connections between the connection points.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire an image, receive designation of a type of the image, present another type specified from the image in a case where the type does not satisfy a criterion corresponding to the image, and receive re-designation of a type of the image.
