Distally loaded sheath and loading funnel

A heart valve delivery system may include a handle, a shaft having a proximal end fixedly connected to the handle and extending distally along an axis away from the handle to a free end, and a tube surrounding the shaft. The tube may have a proximal end connected to the handle and extend distally along the axis away from the handle to a distal end. The tube may be axially movable relative to the shaft and the handle between a fully extended position at which the tube extends distally farther than the shaft, and a fully retracted position at which the shaft extends distally farther than the tube. The system may include an inserter for guiding insertion of the tube. In addition or in alternative to the inserter, the system may include a funnel for loading the prosthetic valve into the tube.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CRIMPING A PROSTHETIC VALVE

Embodiments of a crimping device for crimping a radially expandable and compressible prosthetic valve are disclosed. A crimping device can comprise a housing configured to receive a prosthetic valve in a radially expanded state. The housing member can include a funnel segment and an outlet in communication with the funnel segment. The crimping device can further comprise an actuator rotatably coupled to the housing, wherein rotation of the actuator relative to the housing causes the prosthetic valve to move axially through the funnel segment such that at least a portion of the prosthetic valve compresses radially by engagement with the funnel segment and exits the crimping device via the outlet.

A method of using a self-adjusting stent assembly includes estimating body lumen diameter(s) associated with a portion of a body lumen in which a stent assembly will be placed; determining, based on the estimated diameter(s), target expanded stent diameter(s) of the stent assembly which is to be placed in the portion of the body lumen; selecting the stent assembly for stenting the portion of the body lumen, wherein the stent assembly is configured to: expand from an initial to expanded diameters within a range of expanded diameters; wherein the range of expanded diameters is from about 9 mm to about 5.5 mm; and wherein the target expanded stent diameter(s) is/are within the range of expanded diameters; and apply a chronic radial force to a wall that forms the portion of the lumen, wherein the radial force is less than about 0.33 N/mm; and implanting the stent assembly in the portion of the body lumen.

This disclosure relates to systems and methods for compressing reversibly compressible endovascular devices for loading into delivery catheters prior to deployment in lumen of a vessel.

CRIMPING DEVICE

A crimping system for a prosthetic heart valve comprises an elongate rigid body and a radially flexible, tubular sock. The body has an inner lumen extending along a central longitudinal axis between an insertion end and an outlet end. The inner lumen has a greater diameter at the insertion end than at the outlet end. The sock is configured to receive a radially compressible prosthetic heart valve in a radially expanded state within the sock and to pull the valve through the inner lumen of the rigid body from the insertion end to the outlet end with the sock being positioned between an outer surface of the valve and an inner surface of the rigid body. The valve is radially compressed by the inner surface of the rigid body as the sock pulls the valve along the longitudinal axis toward the outlet end of the lumen.

Described here are systems, devices, and methods for delivery of an implant to a bodily cavity. The implant may include a hub and a plurality of legs, and may be moveable between a low-profile and expanded configuration. The systems may include a crimping device having a crimping member with a plurality of arms. The plurality of arms may engage the plurality of legs of the implant, and may move the legs to move the implant to the low-profile configuration. In some instances a delivery device may aid in crimping and/or delivery of the implant.

Transcatheter prosthetic heart valve delivery system and method

A system for percutaneous delivery of a stented prosthetic heart valve. The system includes a delivery device with a self-expanding prosthetic heart valve attached thereto and a delivery sheath with an opening on a distal end thereof. The delivery sheath includes a funnel on a proximal end thereof. The delivery device is inserted into the funnel of the delivery sheath. As the delivery device is advanced into the funnel, the expanded heart valve is compressed by the shape of the funnel into a crimped arrangement. The delivery device further advances the heart valve distally within the delivery sheath past the delivery sheath opening. The delivery device is advanced relative to the delivery sheath in transitioning the heart valve from a crimped arrangement to the expanded and deployed arrangement.

Systems and devices for crimping a medical device and associated methods are disclosed herein. A crimping device configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a frame including a stationary plate, a movable member, and a plurality of blades arranged to form a channel and each including a pin that projects through a slot on the movable member and a corresponding slot on the stationary plate. The crimping device can be actuated to move the movable member relative to the stationary plate to drive the pins along paths defined by the slots to thereby drive the blades radially inward to crimp a medical device positioned within the channel.
