Recognition-based industrial automation control with person and object discrimination

The present disclosure generally relates to a method for performing industrial automation control in an industrial automation system may include detecting, via a sensor system, positions and/or motions of one or more humans and/or one or more objects in an industrial automation system and distinguishing, via a programmed computer system, between one or more humans and one or more objects based upon the detected positions and/or motions. The method may then include implementing a control and/or notification action based upon the distinction.

OPTICAL TRANSFER DIAGNOSIS FOR DETECTION AND MONITORING OF TISSUE DISORDERS
20170224270 · 2017-08-10 ·

Systems and methods for discriminating between malignant and benign pigmented skin lesions based on optical analysis using spatial distribution maps, morphological parameters, and additional diagnostic parameters derived from images of tissue lesions. A handheld optical transfer diagnosis device is disclosed capable of capturing a series of reflectance images of a skin lesion at a variety of angles of illumination and observation.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING SIGNATURE LOCATIONS WITHIN ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTS

Systems and methods for predicting signature locations include an electronic document to be signed, a user of the electronic document, and a user communication device. The user provides free text inputs in the text input module of the system for the requirements of signatures in the document. A signature fields finder module analyzes inputs of user based on heuristic training patterns and screens and maps all the pages of the document for placing signature boxes. The system then places signature tags in the signature boxes. The user selects the signer parties present in the signature boxes and the system compiles signature tags for that party.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR READING AND VALIDATING IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

Method and system for reading and validating identity documents that involves acquiring an image of a first and/or a second side of an identity document using a camera of a portable device; recognizing whether MRZ characters exist or are readable in the acquired image; if said MRZ characters are readable or do exist reading them obtaining a pre-identified document, or otherwise, detecting a series of local points of interests and their positions on the image calculating descriptors or vectors; and identifying the type or model of said identity document, starting by correcting perspective distortions caused by a bad relative position of the identity document with respect to the camera for obtaining a corrected and substantially rectangular image of the first and/or second side of the document at a predetermined scale which is used to perform, automatically, said identification of the identity document type or model and to automatically read and identify text and non-text information included in said corrected and substantially rectangular image.

Apparatus, system, and method of use of imaging assembly on mobile terminal

A system for collecting data comprising a mobile terminal for capturing a plurality of frames of image data, the mobile terminal having a first imaging assembly and a second imaging assembly, the first imaging assembly for capturing a first frame of image data representing a first object and the second imaging assembly for capturing a second frame of image data representing a second object, wherein the system for use in collecting data is operative for associating first frame information and second frame information, the first frame information including one or more of image data of the first frame of image data and information derived utilizing the image data of the first frame of image data, the second frame information including one or more of image data of the second frame of image data and information derived utilizing the image data of the second frame of image data.

INTELLIGENT PARKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170278311 · 2017-09-28 ·

An intelligent parking management system for residential communities is disclosed that includes a license plate reader; and a server communicatively coupled to the license plate reader over a network. The server includes a memory storing a parking policy and registered license places for one or more residential communities registered with the at least one server; and at least one processor. The processor is operably configured to receive a license plate number, over the network, from the license plate reader; compare the license plate number to a plurality of registered license plate numbers stored in the memory; and communicate, over the network, a parking violation message as a result of determining that the license plate number does not match any one of the plurality of registered license plate numbers to a user such as a resident, a towing company, or administrator.

Translation and display of text in picture

A method performed by a mobile terminal may include displaying an image via a display of the mobile device. A first user selection of a portion of the image is received and text in the selected portion of the image is identified. The identified text is displayed via the display. A second user selection of at least a portion of the identified text is received. The portion of the identified text is translated from a first language into a second language that differs from the first language. The translated text, in the second language, is displayed over the image via the display.

TESTING EQUIPMENT WITH MAGNIFYING FUNCTION

Embodiments disclose a device for testing biological specimen. The device includes a sample carrier and a detachable cover. The sample carrier includes a specimen holding area. The detachable cover is placed on top of the specimen holding area. The detachable cover includes a magnifying component configured to align with the specimen holding area. The focal length of the magnifying component is from 0.1 mm to 8.5 mm. The magnifying component has a linear magnification ratio of at least 1. Some embodiments further include a multi-camera configuration. These embodiments include a first camera module and a second camera module arranged to capture one or more images of the first holding area and the second holding area, respectively. The processor may perform different analytic processes on the captured images of different holding areas to determine an outcome with regard to the biological specimen.

Use of Camera on Mobile Device to Extract Measurements From Garments
20170270686 · 2017-09-21 ·

This document presents a system and method for generating accurate, specific measurements of garments through the use of a camera associated with a mobile device and transmitting the measurements to relevant third party applications. The camera may capture an image of the garment and based upon metrics associated with the mobile device and camera, calculate the measurements and/or sizing of the garment captured in the camera image. The information may then be transmitted to a third party to assist in the creation of a personalized catalogue of garments that are less likely to be returned by a user for reasons of poor fit.

Electronic device and character recognition method thereof

Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an electronic device and a character recognition method thereof. The electronic device may include a housing, a touchscreen display exposed through a first portion of the housing, an image sensor exposed through a second portion of the housing, a wireless communication circuit located in the housing, a processor operatively coupled to the touchscreen display, the image sensor, and the wireless communication circuit, and a memory operatively coupled to the processor. The memory may store instructions, which when executed, cause the processor to control the electronic device to display a user interface including an image acquired from the image sensor or stored in the memory, and recognize a region including a text in the image for optical character recognition by detecting a boundary of the region, comparing a size of the region with a predetermined size, and selecting the region for the optical character recognition based at least in part on the comparison result.
