COMMISSURE MARKER FOR A PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE
Methods and systems for attaching a radiopaque marker to a prosthetic heart valve to indicate a location of a commissure of the prosthetic heart valve are disclosed. As one example, a prosthetic heart valve can include a frame, a plurality of leaflets arranged within the frame, and at least one commissure comprising an attachment member comprising a central portion and a flap extending outward from the central portion, the flap folded over a radially outward facing side of the central portion, and the attachment member arranged across a selected cell of the frame. The commissure further comprises commissure tabs of two adjacent leaflets coupled to a radially inward facing side of the central portion, and a radiopaque marker arranged on the flap of the attachment member, between the flap and the radially outward facing side of the central portion.
A PERFUSION BALLOON WITH AN EXPANDABLE INTERNAL LUMEN
The present invention relates to a perfusion balloon catheter that has an expandable (enlargeable) inner lumen (114) with a novel design feature that allows a continuous flow through this enlarged lumen sufficient perfusion to the distal lumen of the blood vessel or air passage concurrent to and independently of balloon (104) inflation or deflation resulting in the prolonged dilatation and avoiding the high risks of blood or air flow stricture during balloon inflation.
DELIVERY BALLOON WITH RETRACTABLE RETENTION CUFFS
A balloon system for delivery of a device. The balloon system includes a balloon including: an elongated central portion including a proximal tapered cone and a distal tapered cone, the elongated central portion and the proximal and distal tapered cones being in an uninflated state; a proximal receiving trench adjacent the proximal tapered cone and a distal receiving trench adjacent the distal tapered cone, and a distal backstop adjacent the distal receiving trench, the distal receiving trench being defined by the distal backstop and the distal tapered cone; and a proximal retractable cuff disposed over the proximal receiving trench and the proximal tapered cone and a distal retractable cuff disposed over the distal receiving trench and the distal tapered cone.
Process, configuration and apparatus for fixing a stent to a balloon of a balloon catheter
A process for fixing an implant to a balloon includes providing, in an interior of a sleeve, a heated balloon having a pressurizable balloon interior and an implant crimped to the balloon. The implant has a supporting structure with a multiplicity of through openings. A negative pressure is applied in the interior of the sleeve and a positive pressure is applied to the balloon interior, so that the balloon is deep-drawn into the openings of the implant, producing a form-locking connection between the balloon and the implant. A configuration for carrying out the process and an apparatus for fixing an implant to a balloon are also provided.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED RETENTION OF STENTS ON A DELIVERY SYSTEM
The present embodiments provide systems and methods for improved retention of stents on a delivery system. In one embodiment, a delivery system comprises a catheter and a balloon. A proximal end of the balloon is secured to an exterior surface of the catheter at a first location, and a distal end of the balloon is secured to the exterior surface of the catheter at a second location. A plurality of bands are disposed in a circumferential space situated between the exterior surface of the catheter and an interior surface of the balloon. The plurality of bands may comprise at least four bands that are discretely spaced-apart in an axial direction from one another along a length of the catheter. At least one stent is secured to the exterior surface of the balloon in a compressed delivery state.
Introducer for a side branch device
An introduction arrangement for a fenestrated or branched stent graft intended for deployment into the lumen of a vessel having a blind vessel extending from it. The introducer has a distal end intended to remain outside a patient in use and a proximal end with a nose cone dilator and an arrangement to retain the branched stent graft distally of the nose cone dilator. A sheath on the introducer extends over the branched stent graft to the nose cone dilator. An indwelling catheter extends from the distal end of the introducer and enters the fenestration or side arm and through to the nose cone dilator, the indwelling catheter has a guide wire extending through it. The guide wire can be extended beyond the nose cone dilator in use before the sheath is withdrawn from the branched stent graft so that it can be snared from the contra-lateral artery.
Inflatable balloon and cove
The present disclosure describes implantable medical devices comprising covers, such as a balloon cover. Such devices can comprise a first layer of a porous polymeric material, such as ePTFE, surrounded by layers of a porous polymeric material having an imbibed elastomer, such as polyurethane. The cover can be used to assist in deployment of an expandable implant, such as a stent-graft, within the body of the patient.
Diametrically adjustable endoprostheses and associated systems and methods
A diametrically adjustable endoprosthesis includes a controlled expansion element extending along at least a portion of a graft and is supported by a stent. The controlled expansion element diametrically constrains and limits expansion of the endoprosthesis. Upon deployment from a smaller, delivery configuration, the endoprosthesis can expand to the initial diameter set by the controlled expansion element. Thereafter, the endoprosthesis can be further diametrically expanded (e.g., using balloon dilation) by mechanically altering the controlled expansion element.
