BALLOON COVER FOR A DELIVERY APPARATUS FOR AN EXPANDABLE PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE
20230190465 · 2023-06-22 ·

Balloon covers for a delivery apparatus for a prosthetic valve are disclosed. As one embodiment, a balloon cover includes first and second shell members that are configured to matingly engage with each other, each including a first portion defining a first cavity configured to receive a distal end portion of the delivery apparatus and at least a portion of an inflatable balloon. The balloon cover includes one or more depression members, each having a free end configured to move radially inward toward a central longitudinal axis of the balloon cover, and a tubular sleeve configured to be positioned around the depression members and the first portions of the first and second shell members such that the first and second shell members are held in mating engagement with each other and the free ends of the depression members are depressed radially inward and form a negative radial depression in the balloon.

Apparatus and methods for deployment of multiple custom-length prostheses (III)

Apparatus for delivering stents to body lumens include one or more tubular prostheses carried at the distal end of a catheter shaft, a sheath slidably disposed over the prostheses, and a guidewire tube extending from within the sheath to the exterior of the sheath through an exit port in a sidewall thereof. A guidewire extends slidably through the guidewire tube. The sheath can be moved relative to the catheter shaft and the guidewire tube to expose the prostheses for deployment. Methods of delivering stents are also provided.

METHODS FOR INCREASING A RETENTION FORCE BETWEEN A POLYMERIC SCAFFOLD AND A DELIVERY BALLOON

A medical device includes a scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. The scaffold is crimped to the balloon by a process that includes inflating the delivery balloon during a diameter reduction to improve scaffold retention and maintaining an inflated balloon during the diameter reduction and prior and subsequent dwell periods.

CATHETER HAVING CONNECTOR WITH ELECTRICAL CONDUCTOR CONNECTIONS

A catheter includes a catheter shaft with an outer surface extending from a proximal end portion to a distal end portion of the catheter shaft. A connector is connected to the proximal end portion of the catheter shaft. A material surrounds the proximal end portion. A printed circuit board is embedded in the material. The printed circuit board has a conductor track. At least one electrical conductor is printed on the outer surface of the catheter shaft. The at least one electrical conductor contacts the conductor track so that the at least one electrical conductor and the at least one conductor track are electrically conductively connected.

Implantable medical devices and related delivery systems

The present disclosure describes medical devices comprising implantable expandable implants, such as stent-grafts. Such devices can comprise a constraining line. The constraining line can surround the proximal end of the expandable implant, and assist in positioning and deployment of the expandable implant within the body of the patient.

Stent retention

A system and method for a stent delivery system, the delivery system having a catheter and a balloon coupled to a distal portion of the catheter. The catheter with the radially expandable member is inserted into a cavity in a mold. Heat and pressure are applied for a period of time which inflates the balloon and imparts a shape memory to a portion of the balloon. The balloon is removed from the cavity of the mold with a shape memory.

Methods for increasing a retention force between a polymeric scaffold and a delivery balloon

A medical device-includes a scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. The scaffold is crimped to the balloon by a process that includes inflating the delivery balloon during a diameter reduction to improve scaffold retention and maintaining an inflated balloon during the diameter reduction and prior and subsequent dwell periods.

INFLATABLE BALLOON AND COVE

The present disclosure describes implantable medical devices comprising covers, such as a balloon cover. Such devices can comprise a first layer of a porous polymeric material, such as ePTFE, surrounded by layers of a porous polymeric material having an imbibed elastomer, such as polyurethane. The cover can be used to assist in deployment of an expandable implant, such as a stent-graft, within the body of the patient.
