Method of detecting, segmenting and extracting salient regions in documents using attention tracking sensors
A method and system for detecting, segmenting, and extracting salient regions in documents by using attention tracking sensors is provided. The method includes: receiving an image that corresponds to a document; receiving, from a sensor, a sequence of measurements that correspond to a human reading of the document; determining, based on the sequence of measurements, at least one region of the document as being a salient document region; demarcating the salient document region in an electronically displayable manner; and outputting a file that includes a displayable version of the document with the demarcated document region. The salient document region may include a title, a section header, and/or a table. The sensor may be an eye-tracking sensor that detects a sequence of eye-gaze positions on the document as a function of time.
Model for Detecting Phishing URLS
Methods, storage systems and computer program products implement embodiments of the present invention for protecting a computing device. These embodiments include detecting that an email is received by the computing device, the email including a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for a web page in a first domain. The web page is retrieved from the domain, and a set of keywords are extracted from the retrieved web page. A query included the set of keywords is submitted to a search engine, and a response to the query is received from the search engine, the response indicating a set of second domain. Finally, in response to detecting that the first domain does not match any of the second domains, an alert for a phishing attack is generated.

A detecting means detects a feature part of the fixed part from the first shaped image. Method and system for keypoint extraction from images of documents
Keypoint extraction is done for extracting keypoints from images of documents. Based on different keypoint extraction approaches used by existing keypoint extraction mechanisms, number of keypoints extracted and related parameters vary. Disclosed herein is a method and system for keypoint extraction from images of one or more documents. In this method, a reference image and a test image of a document are collected as input. During the keypoint extraction, based on types of characters present in words extracted from the document images, a plurality of words are extracted. Further, all connected components in each of the extracted words are identified. Further, it is decided whether keypoints are to be searched in a first component or in a last component of all the identified connected components, and accordingly searches and extracts at least four of the keypoints from the test image and the corresponding four keypoints from the reference image.
Adaptive interest rate control for visual search
Image-processing apparatus and methods to adaptively vary an interest point threshold value and control a number of interest points identified in an image frame are described. Sub-regions of an image frame may be processed in a sequence, and an interest point threshold value calculated for each sub-region. The calculated value of the interest point threshold may depend upon pre-selected values and values determined from the processing of one or more prior sub-regions. By using adaptive thresholding, a number of interest points detected for each frame in a sequence of image frames may remain substantially constant, even though objects within the frames may vary appreciably.
Adaptive search window control for visual search
Image-processing apparatus and methods to adaptively control a size and/or location of a visual search window used for feature matching in a machine-vision system are described. A search window controller may receive motion vector data and image recognition rate data, and compute a search window size and/or search window location based on the received data. The computed search window size may be a portion of an image frame. The motion vector data and image recognition rate data may be computed from one or more images in a video image sequence. By adaptively controlling search window size and location, an appreciable reduction in data processing burden for feature matching may be achieved.
