The image analysis device includes a similar image searching unit, an image correspondence detection unit, an attribute output unit, and a knowledge database. The similar image searching unit searches the knowledge database for a drawing image similar to the input drawing image. The image correspondence detection unit detects which of objects and/or their components shown in a drawing image corresponds to which of objects and/or their components shown in the drawing image retrieved by the similar image searching unit. The attribute output unit extracts attribute information of a corresponding point detected by the image correspondence detection unit from the knowledge database to output it as the attribute information of the drawing image.

However, lack of proper information about availability of similar parts leads to redesigning of similar part. Existing databases for engineering drawings do not store categorized information due to which performing feature-based search is not possible. Present application provides systems and methods for extracting, digitizing, and using engineering drawing data. The system receives engineering drawing document and extracts text data present in each cell of table provided in document. Once table data is extracted, isometric views and views other than isometric views that are present in document are identified by the system using pretrained machine learning based model. The system further extract view labels and coordinate information from identified views. The information extracted from document is then stored by the system as engineering drawing data for document.

The validity of engineering drawings is automatically determined based on compliance of the specifications of the engineering drawings with automatically generated rules. A document package including images of the engineering drawings and related documents is received. Rules codifying the requirements to be fulfilled by the engineering drawings are automatically generated from the related documents. Data such as specifications of the various parts of the entities in the engineering drawings are automatically extracted. The extracted data is analyzed to determine compliance with the rules to validate the engineering drawings.
