The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include: detecting, by a first sensor, a first gesture associated with selecting a first virtual object in an augmented reality environment displayed by a head-mounted display; displaying, by the head-mounted display, a first indicator indicating a selection of the first virtual object by a user; detecting, using the first sensor or a second sensor, a first movement of the head-mounted display associated with a first movement command; and in response to detecting the first movement of the head-mounted display, executing the first movement command, where the first movement command is a scrolling function to scroll text or a graphical object of the first virtual object or a movement function to move the text or the graphical object of the first virtual object.

The present teaching relates to detecting palm liveness. When an image is received with visual information claimed to represent a palm of a person, an initial region of interests (ROI) is identified from the image that corresponds to the palm and an initial dimension thereof is determined. When the initial dimension is smaller than a specified dimension, the initial ROI is extended in some respective directions to some expansion region with certain expansion dimension to generate an ROI using the visual information in the ROI from the image. A plurality of decisions are obtained with respect to the ROI, each of which is made individually on whether the ROI represents a specific type of fake palm. The decisions are then combined to derive a liveness detection decision on whether the palm captured in the image is live.

A method of identifying a person, the method comprising: acquiring spatiotemporal data for each of a plurality of anatomical landmarks associated with an activity engaged in by a person that defines a spatiotemporal trajectory of the anatomical landmark during the activity; modeling the acquired spatiotemporal data as a spatiotemporal graph (ST-Graph); and processing the ST-Graph using at least one non-local graph convolution neural network (NLGCN) to provide an identity for the person.

Techniques for authenticating a user based on hand features includes receiving sensor data of a scene that includes hands, extracting features for at least one of the hands, and determining a first identity associated with the at least one hand based on the extracted features. The user identity may be associated with authentication information such that when a system detects a gesture by the hands, the authentication information is assessed prior to performing an action associated with the gesture. Authenticated users may be used for determining authorized activity for performing an action associated with a gesture, and may be used for collaborative activity among users.

A method, system, apparatus, and/or device for adjusting a task or a task flow in an augmented reality environment. The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include: identifying a first task in a task flow to collect data associated with a user performing the first task; collecting a first set of data associated with the user performing the first task; comparing an amount of time the user expends to perform the first task to a first threshold amount of time; and in response to the amount of time the user expends to perform the first task exceeding the first threshold amount of time displaying a notification to the user or another device.

A method, system, apparatus, and/or device for adjusting a task or a task flow in an augmented reality environment. The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include: identifying a first task in a task flow to collect data associated with a user performing the first task; collecting a first set of data associated with the user performing the first task; comparing an amount of time the user expends to perform the first task to a first threshold amount of time; and in response to the amount of time the user expends to perform the first task exceeding the first threshold amount of time displaying a notification to the user or another device.
