SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING WINDSHIELD CRACKS
Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting a crack in an automotive windshield and alerting a user of the same. This can allow the user to repair the crack before the user might otherwise detect the crack by his/her own visual inspection. The windshield can be provided with emitters configured to emit signals (e.g., sound, light, etc.) and corresponding detectors configured to detect the emitted signals. Signal profiles or signatures can be stored that represent normal measurements when there is no crack. Upon detecting a signal signature that deviates from the stored normal signal signatures, the system can notify the user of a potential crack in the windshield. The system can also determine the location of the crack based upon which of the detectors detect a change in the detected signal.
CHARGING INLET ASSEMBLY HAVING AN HMI ASSEMBLY
A charging inlet assembly includes a housing extending between a front and a rear. The housing has a DC section includes DC terminal channels configured to receive DC terminals. The housing has an AC section including AC terminal channels configured to receive AC terminals. The DC section configured for mating with a DC charging connector at the front. The AC section configured for mating with an AC charging connector at the front. The housing includes an indicator opening. The charging inlet assembly includes a human machine interface (HMI) assembly coupled to the rear of the housing. The HMI assembly includes a charging indicator aligned with the indicator opening. The charging indicator is visible from the front of the housing to indicate a charging status of the charging inlet assembly.
System and method for reporting on vehicle characteristics determined by transmission control circuit
Systems and methods for reporting on vehicle characteristics determined by the control system of a multi-speed automatic transmission of a vehicle are provided. The control system may output a vehicle mass alert based on a relationship between a vehicle mass threshold and a determined vehicle mass satisfying a condition. The control system may output a vehicle road grade alert based on a relationship between a vehicle road grade threshold and a determined vehicle road grade satisfying a condition.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR UNDERBODY INSPECTION OF A MOVING VEHICLE WITH A SMARTPHONE
Systems and methods that allow a smartphone to be used as an imaging device for undercarriage inspection of a moving vehicle are provided. The method may include locating the smartphone on the ground via one or more sensors of the vehicle. The vehicle may generate a path for the vehicle to drive over the smartphone based on the location of the smartphone, and optionally display the path to facilitate manual driving of the vehicle by the driver over the smartphone. Alternatively, the vehicle may self-drive to follow the path. The smartphone may capture image data indicative of the undercarriage of the vehicle, inspect and analyze the image data to identify one or more issues of the undercarriage of the vehicle, and transmit the analyzed image data to the vehicle for display. The driver may confirm the one or more issues and transmit the data to an inspection professional for additional assistance if needed.
LIFTGATE OPERATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Multi-mode personal transportation and delivery devices and methods of use are disclosed herein. A method can include providing a preview of an opening height of a tailgate to a user, where the opening height is defined by a distance of liftgate that is measured relative to a ground plane, receiving feedback to adjust the opening height, creating a customized liftgate opening height from the feedback, and storing the customized liftgate opening height in a user account.
System and method for accessing vehicle communication applications requiring vehicle identification without re-entering vehicle identification
Methods and apparatus are provided for repairing vehicles. A computing device having first and second software executables can determine vehicle identification information (VII) that identifies a vehicle. The computing device can store first and second vehicle identifiers that are based on the VII and are respectively associated with the first and second software executables, where the first vehicle identifier differs from the second vehicle identifier. The computing device can be used to repair the vehicle by at least: receiving a request to activate the first software executable, and activating the first software executable at least by providing the stored first vehicle identifier to the first software executable.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE FLOW SYNCHRONIZATION WITH RESPECT TO A WORK MACHINE IN A MATERIAL LOADING CYCLE
A system and method are provided for flow synchronization between various transport vehicles (e.g. dump trucks) and a work machine (e.g. excavator) in a material loading cycle. The work machine and each transport vehicle are configured to communicate with each other via a machine-to-machine communications network. A controller determines initiation of a loading cycle associated with the work machine and a first transport vehicle, and detects certain parameters corresponding to a duration of the loading cycle (e.g. weight of payload, volume of truck bin, historical cycle data). A remaining time in the loading cycle duration is accordingly estimated, and an output signal corresponding to the estimated remaining time is generated to at least a next transport vehicle in a loading sequence. The system and method facilitate even spacing of transport vehicles, consistent travel speeds, and optimization of a number of loading vehicles required to coordinate with a given work machine.
Methods and systems for assessing fuel burn levels in aircraft
Herein provided are methods and systems for assessing a fuel burn level of an aircraft for a planned mission. Flight information relating to the planned mission is obtained via a graphical user interface, the flight information comprising configurable number of passengers for the aircraft. A requisite engine bleed level for the planned mission is determined based on the flight information. The fuel burn level is assessed based on the requisite engine bleed level.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADAPTING NOTIFICATIONS ACCORDING TO COMPONENT MONITORING
System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to adapting notifications according to monitoring states of a vehicle operator. In one embodiment, a method includes acquiring sensor data associated with an operator of a vehicle. The method also includes determining an operator state from the sensor data. The method also includes computing a difference of the operator state to a parameter associated with monitoring a component in the vehicle. The method also includes adapting a notification associated with the component by a controller according to the difference.
Method and system for reporting diagnostic trouble code set in vehicle is collision-related
A method and computing system for determining whether a DTC set in a vehicle involved in a collision is collision-related or non-collision-related. The method can include determining a vehicle model associated with the vehicle, determining a DTC set within an ECU in the vehicle, determining a damaged portion in the vehicle, determining the DTC is collision-related, and outputting a collision report that indicates the DTC is collision-related. The determined damaged portion indicates where the vehicle was damaged by the collision. Determining the DTC is collision-related can include determining the damaged portion in the vehicle matches a reference vehicle portion associated with both a component attributable to setting the DTC and the vehicle model associated with the damaged vehicle. The collision report can indicate that a different DTC set by the same or a different ECU in the vehicle is non-collision-related.
