Limb Immobilizer Device
A limb immobilizer device is provided for bracing and immobilizing the limb of a wearer. The device comprises an elongated cuff having a substantially rectangular body that is adapted wrap around the limb of the wearer. A plurality of cuff straps extend across the opening of the cuff to secure the cuff into a tubular shape around the limb, while one or more elongated wraps extend from the ends of the cuff to secure the cuff in position along the wearer's limb. The elongated wraps encircle the elongated cuff and the wearer's limb several times to secure the cuff to the limb and thus prevent movement. The wraps are preferably elastic and in some embodiments are removably attached to the cuff. Additionally, the interior surface of the cuff may support one or more pockets therealong that are adapted to support thermal packs for additional limb treatment.
ORTHOPEDIC BRACE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
An orthopedic brace and method of making the same includes a wrap member having a first and second layer. The first layer includes a first sheet and a second sheet in a laterally spaced apart relationship. Each sheet has an inner side edge and an inner panel portion which extends the length of the corresponding sheet along the corresponding inner side edge. The second layer has first and second side edges, a first overlay portion extending the length of the second layer adjacent the first side edge and overlapping the first sheet's panel portion, a second overlay portion extending the length of the second layer adjacent the second side edge and overlapping the second sheet's panel portion, and a center portion that bridges the overlay portions. The layers are stitched together along spaced apart sets of seams.
Substrate
A substrate that can be applied to a user's body part having a region of temporally-controlled elasticity that transitions between a first state and a second state when activated, wherein the first state is more relaxed than the second state, and the substrate can at least partially revert from the second state to the first state over an extended time period resulting from the temporally-controlled elasticity of the substrate, and wherein the substrate can apply a treatment/mechanical force to the body part, as the substrate transitions from the second state to the first state.
Advanced Compression Garments and Systems
Advanced compression garments and their methods of use, including garments with compression applying straps, and associated sensors that are able to sense the compression applied to an underlying body tissue by the straps. Pressure and/or temperature information from the sensors may be conveyed to a wearer of the garment and/or to another party.
Pain management and post-operative hip orthosis
An improved pain management and post-operative hip orthosis includes a waist strap having first and second ends, a lower strap having first and second ends, and a pocket extending between the waist strap and lower strap. The pocket has inner and outer panels fastened to each other to define an upper opening and a lower opening. A cooling pack including a reservoir and inlet and outlet tubes extending from a bottom of the reservoir is applied to the pocket such that the inlet and outlet tubes pass through the lower opening of the pocket.
Orthosis fastening system
The present invention relates to an orthosis (100) for bracing a body part. A first side (20) of the orthosis (100) comprises a connector element (1), and a second side (30) of the orthosis (100) comprising a receiving element (2). The connector and receiving elements (1, 2) together form a fastening system. The connector element (1) comprises a loop (3), wherein the receiving element (2) comprises a receiving component (4) adapted to receive said loop (3).
Customizable fitted apparatus
A customizable fitted device for immobilizing injuries and a method for constructing the fitted device is provided. The fitted device can be used to stabilize an arm, wrist, hand, leg, knee, ankle, foot or other body parts through custom formation. The device can be formed by a sidewall having one or more sidewall sections that can be secured together using retaining clips positioned within retaining clip slots on the device. The device can further include one or more openings defined in the sidewall of each device section while maintaining rigidity in the sidewall. The device can be constructed by of creating a 3D image scan of the particular body part on which the device will be applied, creating a design of the device to precisely match the contours of the 3D image scan, and using a 3D printer to construct the device according to the design.
CORRECTION DEVICE
A correction device is disclosed, which includes a housing assembly, an electromagnet, a correction assembly, a mounting assembly and a control assembly. The housing assembly defines a receiving cavity having a clearance hole. The electromagnet includes a coil having a clearance channel, and an armature passing through the clearance channel and being movable in an axial direction of the coil. The correction assembly is disposed on the housing assembly and movable along the axial direction of the coil, with an end being connected to the armature, and a further end passing through the clearance hole. The control and mounting assemblies are disposed on the housing assembly, the control assembly being electrically connected to the coil to control the coil to be energized or de-energized. The armature, upon the coil being energized, pushes the further end of the correction assembly to move in a direction extending out of the housing assembly.
Garment
Different aspects of the invention relate to a garment comprising ballasts configurable in such a way as to strengthen the musculature of a particular area of the body, while at the same time allowing to carry out another activity, whether fun or therapeutic. In one aspect of the invention, the ballasts are arranged differently to treat different ailments. Different ballast arrangements comprise different configurations of mass applied per zone, the ballast arrangement on the surface of the body, and the pattern this ballast arrangement follows. Each arrangement generates different imbalances, and of different intensity, on the body, which, when carrying out other activities, has the combined effect of treating an ailment according to physiotherapeutic indications. The particular ballast configuration could be already defined on the garment, or can be configured and reconfigured by the user himself, following indications.
Customized wearable with integrated pathways and/or interconnects
One embodiment relates to an orthopedic precast that, upon an application of heat of a prescribed level while the orthopedic precast is worn adjacent to a targeted body part of the patient, transitions into an orthosis that conforms with the body part. The orthopedic precast includes a first portion and an interconnect. The first portion is formed of interwoven strands of a first thermoplastic material having a first melting temperature. These interwoven strands forming a pathway within the first portion. The interconnect is positioned within the pathway, wherein the interconnect is configured to receive power and radiate heat based on current flowing through the interconnect. Responsive to the interconnect supplying radiating heat of at least the first melting temperature, the first thermoplastic material partially melts and, upon subsequent cooling, the first portion transitions from flexible material into a rigid structure of the orthosis.
