METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ACCESS CONTROL WITH MODULATED LIGHTS
A method for access control in an access control system for people or vehicles comprising at least one access control device. In the method the at least one access control device, using a selective modulation of the frequency, spatial modulation and/or optional temporal modulation of light emitted by a specified number of light sources, transmits information that can be received and demodulated by a mobile electronic device having a camera. The information sent by the access control device contains a unique ID of the access control device, which is used to control the access control device in accordance with data transmitted to the access control system by a mobile electronic device which receives the information transmitted.
Devices and methods for locking and unlocking mechanical equipment
An electronic locking device for selectively locking a medical device includes an antenna configured to wirelessly receive information from an identification tag, wherein the identification tag comprises unlocked duration period data, a motor coupled to the antenna, and a locking pin coupled to the motor, wherein the motor is configured to transition the locking pin from a locked position to an unlocked position for a predetermined period of time prescribed by the unlocked duration period data in response to an unlocking signal received by the antenna from the identification tag, wherein the locking pin is configured to prevent usage of the medical device in the locked position and allow usage of the medical device in the unlocked position.
Methods of operating a lock
A method of controlling a lock mechanism of an active door includes transiting an access controller of the lock mechanism to an authorized access mode and transitioning the access controller from the authorized access mode to an entry mode. Transitioning the access controller to the authorized access mode is in response to an authorized user being sensed approaching the active door from an exterior side of the active door or in response to input on a remote device. In the authorized access mode, an exterior handle of the active door is decoupled from a main latch of the lock mechanism. Transitioning the access controller to the entry mode is in response to sensed contact with the exterior handle. In the entry mode, the exterior handle is capable of rotating to transition the access controller to an unlocked mode in which the exterior handle is operably coupled to the main latch.
KEY FOB WITH RSSI
A key fob includes: communicator(s), a battery, memory, and processor(s) configured to: find signal strengths of received polls; determine, based on the signal strengths, that the received polls have: (a) increased, (b) decreased, (c) leveled off; and if (a), issue a poll response; if (c), not issue the poll response.
METHOD FOR LOCATING A USER DEVICE IN A SUB-ZONE OF A MAIN ZONE DEFINED WITH RESPECT TO A VEHICLE
A method for locating a user device in a sub-zone of a main zone defined with respect to a vehicle, especially including detecting the user device in a first sub-zone, locating the user device in the first sub-zone, keeping locating the user device in the first sub-zone for as long as the user device is detected in the first sub-zone, detecting the user device in a second sub-zone, and locating the user device in the second sub-zone when the user device is detected solely in the second sub-zone.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM ON WHICH A PROGRAM IS RECORDED
A vehicle control device includes: a receiving section receiving, from a user, setting processing for setting a time period in which control of a vehicle by using an information processing device is suppressed; a detecting section detecting a predetermined user operation for control of the vehicle; and a control permitting section that, in a case in which the predetermined user operation is detected in a time period that is different than the time period in which control of the vehicle is suppressed, permits control of the vehicle in accordance with the information processing device vibrating or moving, and, in a case in which the predetermined user operation is detected within the time period in which control of the vehicle is suppressed, does not permit control of the vehicle regardless of whether or not the information processing device is vibrating or moving.
SMARTPHONE WITH INTEGRATED MULTI-TRANSPONDER MODE KEY DEVICE
A smartphone having: a configurable radio frequency transmitter; a configurable low frequency transponder with at least one low frequency coil; and a smartphone application program that is controlled by a cloud service and that is configured to configure the radio frequency transmitter and the low frequency transponder with protocol parameters and initial data values such that the low frequency transponder mimics a virgin key device that can be programmed to a particular vehicle model.
Set-top box with enhanced behavioral controls and system and method for use of same
A set-top box with enhanced behavioral controls and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, a wireless transceiver is located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a signal input, a signal output, a processor, and memory. The set-top box may pair with an electronic door locking apparatus coupled to a door that is room-collocated with the set-top box in a hospitality establishment. The set-top box may then reprogram the electronic door locking apparatus as well as control amenities, such as a display, in response to presence signal from the electronic door locking apparatus.
SIGNALLING DURESS
It is provided a method performed by a key device for supporting duress signalling. The method comprises the steps of: determining that a user is under duress; entering a wait state after the step of determining that a user is under duress; exiting the wait state and establishing a communication channel with a lock device, the communication channel being intended to be used for access control signalling; generating a duress signal; and transmitting, over the communication channel, the duress signal to the lock device.
Bracelet with clock and remote key fob
A fashionable bracelet operates as a remote car key fob and a clock. The bracelet provides multiple buttons allowing a user to operate the bracelet to control access to the vehicle coupled to the bracelet. The bracelet receives voice commands to operate the vehicle. Moreover, the bracelet incorporates a GPS subsystem for auto-piloting the vehicle to the location of the user. The bracelet further incorporates multiple LEDs to provide operational feedback to the user. The clock can be turned on and off using one of the buttons. The wireless key fob functions and the clock are controlled by a microcontroller disposed within the bracelet. The bracelet includes a battery to provide power to various components of the bracelet. The battery is operatively coupled to a solar panel. The bracelet is conveniently and securely attached to the wrist of the user.
