The invention relates to a handheld transmitter having an energy store, a motion sensor for detecting a movement of the handheld transmitter, and a transmission/reception unit for establishing a wireless connection to an electrically actuable portable lock, wherein the handheld transmitter can be switched over between a manual mode in which the connection establishment can only be triggered by the actuation of an actuation element by a user and an automatic mode in which the connection establishment can be triggered by a movement of the handheld transmitter. A further subject of the invention is a locking system comprising such a handheld transmitter and an electrically actuable portable lock. The invention additionally relates to a method of unlocking an electrically actuable portable lock by means of a handheld transmitter.

Determining when to trigger positioning of a portable key device
11967194 · 2024-04-23 · ·

It is provided a method for determining when to trigger positioning of a portable key device used in access control for an electronic lock controlling access to a restricted physical space. The method is performed in a positioning determiner and comprises the steps of: obtaining movement data from a motion sensor of the portable key device, the movement data indicating movement of the portable key device; determining when the movement data indicates a stop in motion of the key device; and triggering positioning of the portable key device when a stop in motion of the key device has been determined.

Electronic keys for electronic locks and methods of using the same
11954957 · 2024-04-09 · ·

The present disclosure relates a set of electronic keys for an electronic lock. The set of electronic keys includes at least one passive electronic key having a passive digital key, and at least one active electronic key having an active digital key. Each of passive and active electronic keys includes a communication channel and an electronic key power supply port. The active electronic key includes electrical power source providing electrical power supply to the active electronic key itself, the electronic lock and the passive electronic key through the electronic lock to operate the electronic lock. When both active and passive electronic keys are inserted into respective electronic keyholes of the electronic lock, both active and passive digital keys are transmitted to the electronic lock, the electronic lock can be locked and unlocked only when both active and passive digital keys received match prestored active and passive digital keys respectively.

Keyless entry device and method for powering the keyless entry device

A keyless entry device and method for powering the keyless entry system, such as a key fob, are disclosed. The keyless entry device has a charging battery, a rechargeable battery, at least one long range function button for a long range function, and at least one short range function button for a short range function. The method includes charging the rechargeable battery using the charging battery, wherein the rechargeable battery has a larger burst current delivery capacity than the charging battery. The method further includes sending a short range transmission from the keyless entry device using at least one of: the charging battery, and the rechargeable battery, when the at least one short range function button is actuated. The method further includes sending a long range transmission from the keyless entry device at least one of: the charging battery, and the rechargeable battery, when the at least one long range function button is actuated.

DIGITAL KEY SYSTEM

In a digital key system, each of a digital key and a digital lock include two terminals and an electric circuit to superimpose and separate a high-frequency signal and a DC current. A microcomputer is operated by DC current supplied from a battery of the digital key through the electric circuit when the digital key is connected to the digital lock, thereby causing an NFC unit to perform communication by the high-frequency signal with the digital key through the electric circuit, read unlocking authority information from a non-contact memory, and authenticate the read unlocking authority information.

Distribution of access control information based on movement of an electronic key

Methods, systems, and devices relating to administration of a portable electronic key are disclosed. The portable electronic key is configured for controlling access to an electronic locking device. A motion detection sensor detects a movement of the portable electronic key. Based on the movement of the key, a wireless communications link is established between the portable electronic key and an access administration device for exchanging messages related to access control information.

Automated locker system and method for delivery and collection of packages

A delivery and collection system comprises a plurality of automated locker assemblies, each comprising a plurality of contiguous lockers which are monitored and controlled by a central computer system. Each locker has an autonomous lock unit including a processor, memory and short range wireless transceiver which communicates with any of a plurality of mobile phones or other wireless devices. Customers of the system are granted access to the lockers by validation codes which are communicated via an enabling message from the central computer system to an app running on the customer's device. The app is configured to send an access request to the lock unit based on the enabling message, and to transmit event details downloaded from the lock unit back to the central computer system. Each enabling message may authorise the user device to perform multiple deliveries or collections or may be a one-time code.

DISTRIBUTED CLONING TOOL ASSEMBLY, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR REPLICATION OF VEHICLE ACCESS DEVICES

Provided is a system and method for duplicating a master key for a vehicle. The system includes determining that a first device is communicating with a t/r device, the t/r device including an antenna for communicating with the master key. A cloning application associated with said t/r device may be operating on the first device. The t/r device may retrieve security information from said master key. The cloning application may communicate the security information for said master key to said central network system. The central network system may generate duplicate security information. The central network system may communicate the duplicate security information to the cloning application. The cloning application may transmit the duplicate security information to the t/r device to program a duplicate master key with the duplicate security information.

ELECTROMECHANICAL LOCK SECURITY SYSTEM
20190228602 · 2019-07-25 ·

An electromechanical locking system includes one or more moveable locking elements and one or more actuators configured to move each of the one or more moveable locking elements between positions. The system includes a receptacle configured to receive a key, a sensor, a processor; and a computer-readable storage medium. The processor causes the sensor to scan the key and detect one or more features of the key, identify a first code that corresponds to the detected features of the key, and apply one or more functions to the first code to yield a second code. The second code includes one or more characters that each character corresponds to one of the plurality of positions. The processor causes the one or more actuators to move the one or more movable locking elements to the positions that correspond to the one or more characters of the second code.
