A brace for aligning and protecting a patella. The brace includes a mounting component for mounting the brace to the leg of the user. The brace also includes a first attachment component attached to the mounting component and a second attachment component superposed on the first attachment component. An alignment component for aligning the patella is releasably attached to the mounting component by the first attachment component. A cushioning component for cushioning the patella is releasably attached to the mounting component by the second attachment component. A cryotherapy or thermal therapy component can alternatively be releasably attached to the mounting component by the second attachment component instead of the cushioning component depending on the needs of the user.

An orthopedic device has a rigid or semi-rigid frame element defining opposed first and second sides, and is adapted to extend about at least a portion of a limb. The device includes straps formed from a variety of segments having stretchable and substantially inelastic segments. The straps adjustably secure to the frame element, and stretch relative thereto. The device also includes a central strap pad arranged to connect two straps together such that a first strap of the two straps is movable relative to a second strap, and the first and second straps are maintained diagonal relative to one another.

An orthopedic device includes a hinge assembly, a frame having first and second frame components spaced apart from and connected to one another by the hinge assembly, a strap system extending between medial and lateral sides of the first frame component, and at least one tensioning element. The at least one tensioning element has a first end secured to the strap system and a second end coupled to the hinge assembly. Articulation of the hinge assembly pulls the strap system toward the frontal plane by the at least one tensioning element.

Knee brace having electromagnetic stimulators for continual electro-acupunctural stimulation; in vivo and in situ tissue engineering

An acupuncture stimulation system comprises a skin overlaying component and a strap having hook-and-loop fastener material, the strap can be wrapped around the skin overlaying component to snugly secure a portion of the system. The skin overlaying component includes: a first electromagnetic form for providing electromagnetic stimulation to a first acupuncture point “Spleen 10”, a second electromagnetic form for providing electromagnetic stimulation to a second acupuncture point “Heting (S 156)”, a third electromagnetic form for providing electromagnetic stimulation to a third acupuncture point “Stomach 34”, a fourth electromagnetic form for providing electromagnetic stimulation to a fourth acupuncture point “Hsiyen (S 145)”, a fifth electromagnetic form for providing electromagnetic stimulation to a fifth acupuncture point “Stomach 35”, and a sixth electromagnetic form for providing electromagnetic stimulation to a sixth acupuncture point “Bladder 40”, to achieve analgesia, cartilage repair and regeneration in the knee joint.

A ONE-SIZE-FITS ALL UNLOADING AND/OR STABILIZING KNEE BRACE FOR USE FROM EITHER THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE LEFT OR RIGHT KNEE
20170252200 · 2017-09-07 ·

A knee brace of near universal application for any patient needing left or right knee stabilization, and/or suffering from arthritis, bone on bone contact, and/or narrowed joint spacing in either left or right knee. Brace is mountable on outside or inside of left or right knee. Brace includes a selectively activated force device for exerting pressure directly by pushing at a joint line of a knee or indirectly by pulling on a knee strap wrapped around knee and force device. A base, adjacent to the force device, at least partially resists pressure of force device, and is adjacent a flexor that allows knee flexing when brace is worn. Extensions connect flexor with base and force device to thigh and calf attachment straps. A knee strap may be used with force device. Knee strap has opening to fit over patella and straps for wrapping around knee without hampering knee flexion.

A self-aligning, self-drawing coupler for coupling body assemblies together improves usability of a wearable robotic device. A self-contained removable actuator cassette improves the ease of manufacture and of replacing parts in the field. A tensioning retention system designed for one handed operation makes donning and doffing a wearable robotic device easier. A two-stage attachment system increases the range of sizes a wearable robotic device will fit. A removable, integrated ankle-foot orthotic system makes donning and doffing a wearable robotic device easier. An infinitely adjustable, integrated ankle-foot orthotic system increases the range of sizes a wearable robotic device will fit. A manually-removable hip-wing attachment system makes field changes easier, and protecting such a system from inadvertent disengagement during operation increases safety.

KNEE BRACE

The invention relates to a knee orthosis with a proximal frame and a distal frame which are connected via a lateral joint and/or a medial join joint such that they can be swiveled, wherein the knee orthosis comprises a proximal pressure element that is arranged exclusively laterally or exclusively medially on the proximal frame by means of a proximal support arm, and a distal pressure element that is arranged exclusively laterally or exclusively medially on the distal frame by means of a distal support arm.
