Orthotic joint devices, joint device components, and methods
Various orthotic joint devices, components, and methods are provided. These include orthotic joint alignment devices for adjusting a neutral or fixed angle of an orthotic joint device independently of other parameters, orthotic joint devices providing staged resistance through staged recruitment of separate springs or initiation of staged spring-rate behavior of a single spring retained in a joint body, adapters for converting non-staged resistance orthotic joint devices into orthotic joint devices, and low-noise orthotic joint devices with intermittent normal force-transmitting contact associated with resistive or assistive forces provided by the devices, and methods of using the devices and components.
Dynamic Exoskeletal Orthosis
An exoskeletal orthosis includes a proximal cuff including a hinge along an upper edge of the cuff; an ankle section/footplate; and at least one posterior strut connecting the proximal cuff to the ankle section and foot plate.
JOINT ORTHOSIS WITH RESILIENTLY DEFORMABLE HINGE
An joint orthosis such as an ankle foot orthosis for controlling joint movement is disclosed, and a method of manufacture. The joint orthosis comprises: a hinge for controlling joint movement in at least one direction; wherein the hinge comprises at least one resiliently deformable portion, and wherein the resiliently deformable portion is configured to resiliently deform in response to at least the joint movement in the at least one direction, to resist further joint movement in the at least one direction.
FOOT MOVEMENT LIMITING DEVICE AND SHOE
A foot movement limiting device for limiting a foot movement via the ankle joint, and to a correspondingly configured shoe for limiting a foot movement via the ankle joint. The foot movement limiting device includes a support arrangement for supporting on a lower leg or from proximally on the ankle bone, a retaining arrangement for retention on a foot and at least one attachment element for limiting a relative movement between the support arrangement and the retaining arrangement.
Joint brace with improved range of motion stop
An improved joint support for limiting the range of motion of an anatomical joint comprises intermeshing gears for allowing adjustment of the range of motion of the joint, and comprises plural mechanisms for securing the gears in engagement with one another, whereby adjustment can be made without tools and without disassembly of any components.
EXTERNAL ANKLE BRACE
An external ankle brace including a rigid heel enclosure having a rear portion and a forward portion, the rear portion configured to receive and at least partially encircle the heel portion of the shoe, the forward portion having a medial sidewall and a lateral sidewall for collectively and concurrently at least partially encircling the sides of the shoe concurrent with the rear portion connecting the medial and lateral sidewalls to collectively at least partially encircle the side. The ankle brace includes a lateral upright extension selectively perpendicular to the rigid heel enclosure and pivotally attached to the lateral sidewall, the lateral upright extension including a lateral reinforcing component and a medial upright extension selectively perpendicular to the rigid heel enclosure and pivotally attached to the medial sidewall, the medial upright extension including a medial reinforcing component.
HALLUX VALGUS ORTHOPEDIC SUPPORTER
A hallux valgus orthopedic supporter which enables comfortable wear for a long time is disclosed. In the hallux valgus orthopedic supporter, in which a supporting member 10 is configured to be worn around a tarsus by applying a supporting member body 11 to vicinity of a heel, placing each of a first protruding part 12 and a second protruding part 13 from left-and-right side of an instep to upper side of the instep with the second protruding part 13 overlapping an outer surface of the first protruding part 12 and fastening a second touch fastener 15 to a first touch fastener 14, and a big-toe sheath 20 is configured to be pulled backward by attaching a rear end of a traction band 30 to medial side of the supporting member body 11, a tip-side edge area of the first protruding part 12 and a tip-side edge area of the first touch fastener 14 have substantially the same arc-like shape and are overlaid.
Semi-active robotic joint
A robotic joint includes a first link, a middle link, a torque generator, a second link, and a locking mechanism. Different ends of the middle link are rotatably coupled to the first link and the second link. The torque generator is coupled to the first link and the middle link and is configured to produce a torque between these links. The locking mechanism is switchable between a locking state and an unlocking state. In the unlocking state, the locking mechanism allows free rotation of the second link relative to the middle link in the first and second rotation directions. In the locking state, the locking mechanism is configured to impede rotation of the second link relative to the middle link in the first rotation direction and to allow rotation of the second link relative to the middle link in the second rotation direction opposite of the first rotation direction.
Modular footwear protuberance assembly
A footwear device comprising: a sole assembly comprising at least one connective element; at least one protuberance assembly comprising a base and a cap, said base and cap configured to rotatively align; a locking fixture configured to lock and unlock said alignment of said base and cap; and a fastening fixture configured to fasten said base to said track in a selected position in said track.
ANKLE FOOT ORTHOPAEDIC APPARATUS
An ankle foot orthopaedic apparatus (10) includes a sole (66), a control part (18), and a connection arrangement (16) for connecting the sole (66) to the control part (18) for controlling or guiding the orientation of the sole (66) in use. The sole (66) includes a sole connector part (20), which comprises part of the connection arrangement (16). The control part (18) includes a control part connector part (22), which comprises part of the connection arrangement (16). The connection arrangement (16) permits movement of the apparatus (10) between a connected condition, in which the sole (66) is connected to the control part (18), and a disconnected condition, in which the sole (66) is disconnected from the control part (18).
