Home monitoring system triggered rules

In some implementations, a system can trigger an action to be performed at a property based on satisfaction of criteria related to location information and a connection status of a mobile computing device. Location information of the mobile computing device relative of a pre-defined geographic region including at least a portion of the property is initially obtained. A connection status of the mobile computing device for a short range wireless connection with a communication-enabled device within the property is then obtained. Criteria for an action at the property is then determined to be satisfied by the location information and the connection status of the mobile computing device. The action is finally triggered to be performed at the property in response to determining that criteria for the action is satisfied.

Method and system for securely receiving deliveries

The present disclosure relates generally to a system and method for receiving packages through the mail when a person is not home. More specifically, the present disclosure provides a system for a person to facilitate safe and secure delivery to a receiving module without needing to be present. In some aspects, an administrator may control the module from a portable smart device or other wireless device. The receiving module may be operated digitally, manually, virtually, or combinations thereof. The settings of the receiving module may be controlled by a recipient, delivery service, sender, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the receiving module may be installable on a garage door.

Access control system and method

A method of operating a facility includes identifying, by a controller, a ground vehicle approaching a restricted access area, and determining, by the controller, if the identified ground vehicle is authorized to enter the restricted access area. The controller permits the identified ground vehicle to enter the restricted access area when the controller determines that the identified ground vehicle is authorized to enter the restricted access area. The controller determines if an object other than the identified ground vehicle is approaching the restricted access area with the identified ground vehicle, and activates protective action when the controller determines that the identified ground vehicle is not authorized to enter the restricted access area or that an object other than the permitted ground vehicle is approaching to enter the restricted access area with the permitted ground vehicle.

Method and System for Remotely and Wirelessly Controlling Electric Window Blinds and Electric Window Shades
20220130192 · 2022-04-28 ·

Remote control for actuating an electric window shade or an electric window blind or an electric window covering, and method and system of using same. A base unit includes: a wireless receiver, to wirelessly receive from an electronic device an incoming wireless signal indicating a command to actuate an electric window covering; a wireless signal constructor, to dynamically construct an outgoing wireless signal which comprises a rolling code; and a wireless transmitter, to transmit the outgoing wireless signal to a wireless receiver of a motor unit that is operably associated with the electric window covering. A wireless signal constructor dynamically constructs the outgoing wireless signal without having access to a secret seed value that is accessible to the motor unit. A local storage unit stores a data-set of rolling codes that are associated with the motor unit; and the outgoing wireless signal is dynamically constructed based on a next-available rolling code obtained from the local storage unit of the base unit.

Onboard automatic parking system for a vehicle

An onboard automatic parking system for a vehicle comprises: an automatic parking unit (20) suited to control a maneuver of the vehicle in or out of a park area secured by a remotely controlled access system; a communication circuit (14) suited to send a wireless instruction for operating the access system; and a human machine interface (30) suited to monitor the communication circuit (14) to send the wireless instruction upon actuation of the human machine interface (30), wherein the human machine interface (30) is also suited to command the automatic parking unit (20) that controls the maneuver subsequent to actuation of said human machine interface (30).

Eliminating unexpected activation of components of a vehicle when parked in a garage

This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for eliminating false activation of components of a vehicle when the vehicle is parked in a garage. Example components can be a door lock, a door latch, a door activation servomotor, or a light. In an example method, a vehicle entry authorization system of a vehicle operates a sensor system to obtain dimensional information of an interior portion of the garage. The vehicle entry authorization system may then detect a presence of a mobile device (such as a phone-as-a-key or a vehicle key fob) and determines the location of the mobile device based on the dimensional information. If the mobile device is located outside the garage, the vehicle entry authorization system refrains from activating a component of the vehicle. However, if the mobile device is located inside the garage, the vehicle entry authorization system activates the component.

Network-based control of movable barrier operators for autonomous vehicles
11763616 · 2023-09-19 · ·

The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for enabling on-demand, temporary storage of an autonomous vehicle in vehicle storage areas of existing infrastructures. The vehicle storage areas include one or more movable barrier operators configured to control access to the vehicle storage areas via movable barriers. An autonomous vehicle access control platform is configured to enable access to individual ones of the vehicle storage areas by a single-use access credential sent to at least one of the autonomous vehicle and one of the movable barrier operators. The autonomous vehicle access control platform communicates with a transportation-as-a-service (TaaS) platform that pairs an autonomous vehicle with a vehicle storage area for storage based at least on a factor or parameter including the location of the vehicle storage area relative to the autonomous vehicle.

Movable barrier imminent motion notification system and method

A movable barrier operator system is provided that includes a moving-barrier imminent motion notification apparatus, a motor, a controller, and communication circuitry configured to communicate with a remote control. In response to the communication circuitry receiving a communication from the remote control, the controller causes the motor to change the state of the movable barrier and additionally operate the moving-barrier imminent motion notification apparatus upon a determination of the remote control being beyond a physical proximity of a location associated with the movable barrier operator system. Upon a determination that the remote control is within the physical proximity, the controller refrains from operation of the moving-barrier imminent motion notification apparatus.
