FORCE ANCHORING DEVICE
A tendon actuated hand enhancer (1) having a force anchoring device (2), comprising a rigid band (8), circumventing more than half of a circumference, but is bendable in the circumferential direction. At least one pulling point (6) for at least one artificial tendon (3) is provided at the force anchoring device (2). The force anchoring device (2) is provided at the tendon actuated hand enhancer (1) at a position corresponding to carpal and proximal portion of metacarpal bones of a user's hand when the hand enhancer (1) is in use, and a pulling means (4) for pulling the at least one artificial tendon (3) is connected to the hand enhancer (1).
Assisted lifting devices
An assisted lifting device includes an adjustable sleeve configured to be worn on an arm of a subject and an array of inflatable actuators connected to the adjustable sleeve. Each of the actuators defines an axis. The axes of the two outermost actuators in the array are each configured to be oriented perpendicular to the arm of the subject. The assisted lifting device also includes a retainer coupled to the sleeve and one of the outermost actuators to maintain the perpendicular orientation of the outermost actuator upon inflation of the plurality of actuators.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SECURING THE SAME
An orthopedic device has various frame elements concealed by a sleeve defining pockets into which such frame elements are located. The orthopedic device includes a strap tightening assembly adapted to secure a plurality of straps simultaneously. The frame may include flexible edge features located along a periphery thereof.
Orthotic device drive system and method
An orthosis includes a first portion and a second portion configured to attach on opposite sides of a joint. An actuator is configured to apply a force between the first and second portions. The actuator includes a first spool and a second spool rotatably mounted to the first portion. An output pulley is mounted to the second portion. A belt has a first end wrapped around the first spool, a second end wrapped around the second spool, and a mid-portion wrapped around the output pulley. The actuator is configured to rotate the first and second spools. The rotation of the first spool pulls the belt a given length, and the rotation of the second spool feeds the belt less than the given length, so as to pull the output pulley towards the first portion to pull the second portion towards the first portion.
FINGER GLOVE LINER AND STRENGTHENING FINGER GLOVE WITH LINER
A finger glove liner (2) comprising at least one finger portion (1), for arrangement inside an outer finger glove, making up a grip strengthening finger glove (3) is provided. The finger glove liner (2) is made of a stretchable material (4) in order to suit more than one size of hands, wherein at least one patch (5) of material, which has attached thereto at least an artificial tendon (9), is arranged at the outside of the finger glove liner (2).
INTERFACE SYSTEM IN AN EXOSKELETON
An interface system in an exoskeleton includes a base support, a strap assembly, and posterior strut. The posterior strut has a vertical member defining a lower end connecting to the base support, and an upper end connecting to first and second transverse members extending in opposed directions from the vertical member. The first and second transverse members connect to the strap assembly. The interface system is adapted to receive and support an assistive device adapted to augment a user's performance and mitigate repetitive strain injuries.
WRIST PROTECTING BAND
The present invention relates to a wrist protecting band. The present invention provides a wrist protecting band wherein: a compression pad is used to compress only an ulna part and a radius part of the wrist toward the center of the wrist, thereby enabling the band to prevent side effects such as hand tingling or hand swelling and stably perform a wrist protecting function; and a mutual coupling force between compression members pivotably coupled to each other is controlled by a user's manipulation so as to control compression load applied to the ulna part and radius part of the wrist, thereby enabling the band to be more conveniently and optimally used according to user needs.
SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS THEREFOR FOR USE IN TREATING A BONE FRACTURE
The specification describes improvements to splints for use in treatment of bone fractures, having particular application for treatment of distal radius fractures. The splints are adjustable, and may be provided in a range of sizes, allowing them to be better customised to a treatment of a patient. In addition, embodiments of the splints are configured for use in treating distal radius fractures treated by surgical fixation.
Modular custom braces, casts and devices and methods for designing and fabricating
A custom device and method for fabricating the custom device includes marking a body with reference points and/or other indicators. Multiple images of the body from multiple angles are then obtained. The images are used to determine the contours of the body and the other markings are located and used to design a brace having an inner surface that corresponds to the contours of the body. The custom modular brace is fabricated as multiple pieces that are releasably coupled together and sequentially removed as the patient heals.
SPLINT DEVICE
A splint device for stabilizing and/or securing a limb or appendage in a fixed position is provided. The splint device can include a first plate member and a second plate member connected together at one end by a hinged connection member. The hinged connection member can be configured to allow each plate member to be rotated relative to one another and selectively locked into a fixed position. The splint device can include a third plate member connected to the second plate member by a second hinged connection. The rotation of each plate member relative to the other can allow the splint device to be selectively positioned in a fixed configuration to generally match the shape and contour of a limb or appendage in a desired configuration. The splint device permits the accommodation of a joint (elbow, wrist, knee, ankle), and may provide for multiple configurations at a splinted limb.
