Systems and methods for identifying an individual

The present application relates to systems and methods using biometric data of an individual for identifying the individual and/or verifying the identity of an individual. These systems and methods are useful for, amongst many applications, more secure identification of high-risk individuals attempting to gain access to an entity, transport, information, location, security organization, law enforcement organization, transaction, services, authorized status, and/or funds.

Methods for authenticating a genuine presence of a human involve directing one or more modulated probes towards a body part of the human, receiving a response to the probes from the body part, and analyzing the response to determine whether it contains spectral characteristics that match a class of responses to such probes for the human body part in a human population. Replay attacks are countered by varying the modulation of the probe temporally, spatially, and spectrally each time authentication is performed. The probes may include electromagnetic radiation, acoustic beams, or particle beams that generate a detected reflection, absorption pattern, scintillation, or fluorescence response of the body part. The analysis of the response may be directed to one or more of temporal, spatial, and spectral variations in accordance with the nature of the probes and the modulation.

Movable barrier operator system and methods of installation and use

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for managing and controlling movable barrier operator systems are described herein. A method for controlling a movable barrier operator system comprises receiving a credential associated with a first user account from a first user device, storing the credential in a memory of the movable barrier operator system, communicating the credential and an identifier of the movable barrier operator system to a remote computer to register the movable barrier operator system with the remote computer, and configuring the movable barrier operator system to change a state of a movable barrier in response to the movable barrier operator system receiving a state change request from a second user device associated with a second user account, the state change request from the second user device including the credential or a derivative of the credential received from the first user device.

The invention utilizes an existing cash register that, in processing the purchases, establishes a unique identifier (i.e. date stamp, barcode, QR code) on the receipt and updates a database of identifiers. This identifier is used at an exit door to trigger the opening of the door/portal allowing the purchaser to leave the building. Ideally the identifier is unique and includes a date of issuance to prevent fraudulent use.

A gate apparatus includes a progress indicator and a control unit. The progress indicator indicates the progress of the procedures related to emigration and immigration examination of the examination target user. The control unit controls the progress indicator depending on the nationality of the examination target user.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, TERMINAL DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

An information processing apparatus according to some non-limiting embodiments includes: a detection unit that detects biometric information of a person from a captured image being input; a first determination unit that determines, based on the captured image, whether or not a condition for starting a determination process of whether or not the person is permitted to pass through a gate is satisfied; a matching unit that matches the biometric information with a registered biometric information in parallel with the process of the first determination unit; and a second determination unit that executes the determination process based on a determination result by the first determination unit and a matching result by the matching unit.

Integrating Healthcare Screening With Other Identity-Based Functions
20220328142 · 2022-10-13 ·

The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for integrating healthcare screening with other identity-based functions. In general, components facilitating healthcare screening interoperate with and/or are integrated into other systems, including facility access, identity, time keeping, payroll, etc. Aspects of the invention include using facial recognition to improve healthcare screening and satisfy governmental regulations. A thermal scanner can include a camera and an InfraRed (IR) camera. The thermal scanner can collect a facial image and derive a temperature for a person (e.g., from an IR image). The thermal scanner can also collect or access previously collected healthcare screening questionnaire answers. The collected temperate and healthcare screening questionnaire answers can be used to control access to the facility. For example, the person can be denied access when the collected temperature exceeds a defined temperate threshold and/or healthcare screening questionnaire answers indicate the person may be sick.
