Automated event detection in controlled-environment areas using biometric identification
11538125 · 2022-12-27 · ·

Systems and methods for automated event detection of controlled-environment facility residents, such as identification of potential dangers and/or issues concerning correctional facility inmates. The system and method employs at least one biometric capture device or mechanism disposed within a controlled-environment area configured to capture biometrics of residents of the controlled-environment facility within the controlled-environment area. A controlled-environment facility administration and management system, or the like, is configured to enroll key biometric identification biometric features of residents of the controlled-environment facility and compare captured biometrics of the residents to enrolled key biometric features of residents of the controlled-environment facility to identify the resident. The system also identifies parameters that define an occurrence of an event. The system monitors the conditions within the facility to detect the occurrence of such an event.

An information processing apparatus in the present invention includes: a matching unit that matches biometric information acquired from a user requesting use of a management target with registered biometric information of each of a plurality of registrants; a determination unit that determines whether or not a registrant with which a matching result is that the matching is successful out of the plurality of registrants has usage authority for the management target; and an output unit that, when the matching result from the matching unit is that the matching failed, outputs first error information, and when it is determined in the determination unit that the registrant with which the matching result is that the matching is successful does not have the usage authority, outputs second error information different from the first error information.

VEHICLE UNLOCKING METHOD, SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS, VEHICLE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Example vehicle unlocking methods and apparatus are described. In one example method, wakeup keyword detection is performed on an obtained voice signal. If the voice signal includes a wakeup keyword, an acoustic source direction is determined, and a target camera is indicated to collect image data. The target camera is a target camera that is installed on the vehicle and whose angle of view can ensure that the acoustic source direction is captured. Then, the vehicle is unlocked based on the image data collected by the target camera.

FACE RECONGITION BASED VEHICLE ACCESS CONTROL

A method for face recognition based vehicle access control. The method may include acquiring one or more images of at least a face of a person that is positioned outside the vehicle and accesses a door of the vehicle in order to determine, based on the one or more images, whether the person is allowed to enter the vehicle. The determination may include matching the face of the person to a database of faces of allowed persons. The database is generated during a machine learning process that involves monitoring persons within the vehicle; and then granting access to the vehicle when determining that the person is allowed to enter the vehicle.

A vehicular security system includes a remote device with a first biometric sensor. An electronic control unit (ECU) of a vehicle processes data captured by the first biometric sensor to determine whether an identity of the user of the remote device matches an authorized user of the vehicle. The ECU, responsive to determining that the user is authorized to use the vehicle, unlocks a door of the vehicle to allow the identified authorized user to access the vehicle. The system includes a second biometric sensor disposed in the vehicle and, with the identified authorized user in the vehicle, the ECU, via processing data captured by the second biometric sensor, determines whether the identity of the identified authorized user of vehicle matches an authorized operator of the vehicle. The ECU, responsive to determining that the user is an authorized operator of the vehicle, allows operation of the vehicle.

PERSONAL AUTHENTICATION DEVICE, PERSONAL AUTHENTICATION METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

Provided is a personal authentication device capable of simply securing security with little psychological and physical burden of a user to be authenticated. Personal authentication device includes: transmission unit that transmits a first acoustic signal to a user's head; observation unit that observes a second acoustic signal after the first acoustic signal propagation; calculation unit that calculates acoustic characteristics from the first and the second acoustic signal; extraction unit that extracts a feature amount related to a user from the acoustic characteristics; storage control unit that registers the feature amount in the storage unit; identification unit that identifies the user by collating the first feature amount with a second feature amount; and storage unit stores the first feature amount, wherein while identification unit identifies the user as being identical, transmission unit transmits the first acoustic signal every predetermined interval.

TOUCHLESS SMART STORAGE BOX WITH FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEM
20220383680 · 2022-12-01 ·

A touchless smart storage box is presented for storage of items like documents, jewellery, data discs, currency, handgun, firearms, etc. The box conducts the authentication for access thereto based on facial information of the user. Once the facial information matches, the contents of the box are made visible on the screen associated with the box by means of an internal camera. A motor may be used to open and close the door without any physical interaction. Multiple sensors may be embedded onto the smart box to indicate its status of open close and location. Due to tempering action the camera may get triggered to capture the scenario and transmit the same to mobile and web application. Communication protocol enables the box to be operated remotely for all interactions.
