A positioning device for arranging and orienting multiple securing elements on a base layer of a base body of an orthopaedic device. The positioning device includes a first holder having at least one receiving device for a securing element, and a second holder having at least one receiving device for a securing element, wherein the first holder and the second holder are mounted on one another such that they can swivel about a swivel axis about a restricted angular range starting from a starting position.
ORTHOSIS
An orthosis is provided, including: a first supporting member, a second supporting member, a pivot mechanism and an attachment mechanism. The first supporting member is configured to be attached to an inner side of a foot and correspond to a big toe. The second supporting member is configured to be attached to the inner side of the foot and correspond to a metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint of the big toe. The first supporting member and the second supporting member are rotatably connected with the pivot mechanism, and the pivot mechanism has a pivot axis configured to correspond to a distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint of the big toe. The attachment mechanism is configured to attach the first supporting member and the second supporting member to the foot.
Support brace
Support braces and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. A support brace includes a flexible fabric substrate and an elastomeric member disposed on the surface of the flexible fabric substrate. The elastomeric member is disposed so as to apply pressure non-uniformly about a limb or joint of the wearer, in a pattern selected to divert pain and/or reduce loads on the joint. The flexible fabric substrate can include regions having different levels of elasticity, to provide different levels of compression to different parts of the joint or limb in addition to the compression provided by the elastomeric member. The elastomeric member can be deposited, screen printed, injection molded, or otherwise applied to the fabric substrate, optionally without adhesive.
Configurable subshell components in orthopedic devices
A coupling device for an orthopedic brace includes an anchoring member for securing to a frame and protruding therefrom, and a subshell arranged to connect to the frame by the anchoring member. The subshell has a locking element for selectively positioning the subshell on the frame at a plurality of locations. The subshell may include an end portion or contoured edge extending beyond a portion of the frame so as to flex relative to the frame.
Waterproof Ankle-Foot Orthosis
An ankle-foot orthosis which is capable of being worn by a user in an acquatic environment which is lightweight, water-resistant, and reduces the amount of hydrodynamic drag during motion of a leg of a user when in water. The ankle-foot orthosis can be fully customizable to the needs of the user. The ankle-foot orthosis including three protective components; a shank shell, a shin plate, and a foot shell. The ankle-foot orthosis optionally including an additional protective component; a dorsal foot plate. At least one flow passage within each of the shank shell and the foot shell. The at least one flow passage providing water drainage and air ventilation, and reducing the overall weight of the shank shell and foot shell.
Knee brace for workers
A knee brace is provided that having a foot support assembly, a knee support assembly, and a calf engagement assembly. The foot support assembly is adjustable relative to the knee support assembly. The calf engagement assembly has a calf brace and is connectable to the foot support assembly and the knee support assembly with adjustment straps. The foot support assembly includes a foot adjustment plate that is connected to a shoe engagement component. The knee support assembly has a knee adjustment plate and has a multilayer pad, and a knee pad connector component connects the multilayer pad and the knee adjustment plate. The knee pad connector component can be connected such that the multilayer pad is in line with or offset relative to the knee pad connector, or the knee pad connector component can be replaced with right and left offset knee pad connector components.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STABILIZING A HUMAN ANATOMICAL JOINT
A garment of the present invention comprises a closed tensionable loop for stabilizing a human knee. The loop is arranged to freely move along a conduit within the garment and is provided with a tensioner. The conduit crosses over itself between the lateral and a medial side on the anterior of the leg at least one of above and below the knee to provide compression on the ligaments of the knee when the loop is tensioned. The conduit circles the lower leg at a distal region of the triceps surae, thereby providing an anchor to the lower leg. An anchor is provided at or above the thigh. A method for stabilizing the knee using the tensionable loop involves positioning the garment so as to ensure that the conduit follows a predetermined path on the leg that places the loop over at least one of the two collateral ligaments of the knee and the tensioner is operated to adjust the compression on the ligaments.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
An orthopedic device has a rigid or semi-rigid frame element defining opposed first and second sides, and is adapted to extend about at least a portion of a limb. The device includes straps formed from a variety of segments having stretchable and substantially inelastic segments. The straps adjustably secure to the frame element, and stretch relative thereto. The device also includes a central strap pad arranged to connect two straps together such that a first strap of the two straps is movable relative to a second strap, and the first and second straps are maintained diagonal relative to one another.
ANATOMICAL BRACE FOR DYNAMICALLY STABILIZING THE ELBOW
An anatomical brace for dynamically stabilizing the elbow during elbow articulation, the anatomical brace comprising: a brace body comprising a distal portion for fitting over the forearm of a user and a proximal portion for fitting over the upper arm of a user; a hinge mechanism comprising a distal segment, a proximal segment and a pivot for pivotally connecting the distal segment and the proximal segment, the distal segment of the hinge mechanism being mounted to the distal portion of the brace body and the proximal segment of the hinge mechanism being mounted to the proximal portion of the brace body; a pivot cable guide mounted to the anterior portion of the pivot; an upper arm cable guide mounted to at least one of the proximal segment of the hinge mechanism and the proximal portion of the brace body, the upper arm cable guide being configured to change the direction of a cable extending through the upper arm cable guide; an ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) cable guide mounted to the brace body and configured to direct a cable extending through the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) cable guide over the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) and toward the distal portion of the brace body; and a cable having a first end and a second end; the first end of the cable being mounted to the distal segment of the hinge mechanism, the second end of the cable being mounted to the distal portion of the brace body, and the cable being routed proximally along the distal segment of the hinge mechanism, through the pivot cable guide, proximally along the proximal segment of the hinge mechanism, through the upper arm cable guide, and through the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) cable guide; wherein, when the anatomical brace is mounted to the arm of a user so that the distal portion of the brace body is secured to the forearm of the user, and the proximal portion of the brace body is secured to the upper arm of the user, and when the elbow thereafter moves to full extension, the cable is tensioned, whereby to apply a force to the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the user, and when the elbow thereafter moves to full flexion, the cable is relaxed, so that the force applied to the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) is released.
Positioning device and system formed of a positioning device and base body of an orthopedic device
