A sheet processing apparatus includes: a first storage that is a winding-type storage unit where a sheet is wound around a drum together with a tape and stored; a second storage that stores the sheet; a transport unit that transports the sheet to the second storage at a first transport speed and transports the sheet from the second storage to the first storage at a second transport speed; and a processing circuitry that controls the first storage, the second storage, and the transport unit so that the second transport speed is slower than the first transport speed and a winding speed for winding the sheet by the first storage is a first winding speed that is slower than the second transport speed.

A pusher plate stacking bin apparatus is provided for a valuable media depository. The apparatus comprising a pusher plate driven by a rack and pinion apparatus to stack a media item that is in a final position within the apparatus onto a media stacking platform. The media item is urged into the final position such that a trailing edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a fixed media guide and such that a leading edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a hinged media guide with a bottom surface of the media item elevated above the media stacking platform. The rack and pinion apparatus drives the plate past the media guides causing the hinged media guide to drop and the media item to fold along the leading edge as the media item is stacked onto the platform.

A pusher plate stacking bin apparatus is provided for a valuable media depository. The apparatus comprising a pusher plate driven by a rack and pinion apparatus to stack a media item that is in a final position within the apparatus onto a media stacking platform. A sterilizing media cassette is described for docking with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal. The sterilizing media cassette has a body having a lower portion and four sides. The body is adapted to hold a stack of media items such as banknotes on support members positioned above the lower portion of the body. A lid is provided that couples to the body. The lid forms an enclosed inner space when coupled to the body. An ozone gas source and/or a heat source is mounted on an inner surface of the body or the inner surface of the lid. A controller activates the ozone gas source and/or a heat source to sterilize the stack of media items. This may be done for a predetermined fixed period of time after the sterilizing media cassette is docked with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal.

A sterilizing media cassette is described for docking with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal. The sterilizing media cassette has a body having a lower portion and four sides. The body is adapted to hold a stack of media items such as banknotes on support members positioned above the lower portion of the body. A lid is provided that couples to the body. A cassette housing for rebalancing bills among storage cassettes is disclosed. The cassette housing is fixedly and operably coupled to a transaction device and includes docking apparatus structured to receive a first storage cassette and a second storage cassette, a transport apparatus operatively coupled to the docking apparatuses and a housing computing system. The transport apparatus is structured to facilitate transferring the bills among the storage cassettes. The housing computing system is structured to generate a first storage data packet and a second storage data packet associated with the first storage cassette and the second storage cassette, respectively. A rebalancing instruction may be generated by a remote computing system based on the first storage data packet and the second storage data packet. The cassette housing is structured to cause the transport apparatus to transport bills based on a rebalancing instruction.

A bill processing apparatus which is capable of reliably supplying information on a bill to the bill housing body side. The paper sheet processing apparatus has a bill housing part being capable of housing a bill inserted from a bill insertion slot, and also a reader/writer which wirelessly transmits information on the bill inserted from the bill insertion slot. The bill housing part has a coil antenna which wirelessly receives the information transmitted from the reader/writer, and a storage part which stores the information on the bill received from the coil antenna.

A bill processing apparatus which is capable of reliably supplying information on a bill to the bill housing body side. The paper sheet processing apparatus has a bill housing part being capable of housing a bill inserted from a bill insertion slot, and also a reader/writer which wirelessly transmits information on the bill inserted from the bill insertion slot. The bill housing part has a coil antenna which wirelessly receives the information transmitted from the reader/writer, and a storage part which stores the information on the bill received from the coil antenna.

A modular ATM is disclosed herein and can include a safe with a first port, at least one currency cassette and dispenser both positioned in the safe, a recycler, and a plurality of linking transport assemblies. The dispenser can move banknotes between the cassette and the first port. The recycler can be positioned on the safe, have second and third ports, and move banknotes between the second and third ports. The recycler can be positionable in a plurality of different orientations and offsets relative to the safe. The plurality of linking transport assemblies can each be individually engageable with the recycler. Each of the linking transport assembly moves banknotes between the first port of the safe and the second port of the recycler. Each linking transport assembly is individually positionable between the safe and the recycler.
